What do most of you use to see who the public is on? Do you use wagerline which calculates % of people on a side or do you use matchbook which has what side is getting more money? Any tips out there?

check out thespread.com...they'll give you the percentages of the sides (same as you'll get with sportsinsights), but no totals.

Terrible odds, forced parlays, forced betting range $2 to $100. Squarest overall "sports book" going. Run by the Ontario gov't.

Their first set of lines come out Tuesday night at midnight. They don't move again until Friday, where they are set for the weekend. You might see a -2.5 offshore; OLGC line could open at -3 and move to -6.5. There are normally a couple of games a week like this.

I've only used this as a guage in NFL and NCAAF betting, tho. Have no idea how it fares in other sports.

what do you mean how do they not get crushed? they are making a killing forcig players to bet 3 team parlays and having to lay -130/-140 to win 100. actually thats highway robbery and im sure the are making a killing off the squares betting into them.

i dont know how much stock you can put into wagerline either. how would they know anyway. what do they have a drect feed from every offshore book out there that is updated by the nanosecond?

If you believe any of that shit then there's no hope for you, just make your picks, lose your cash and try to be smart at something else like Golf or Bowling. :drink:

Exactly.

On PointSpread, you can play two-game parlays. But, again, the odds are terrible and it's still a forced parlay.

Wagerline is pure contests, so the selections have nothing to do with actual bets. But I still think it's quite indicative. I find that between Proline, Wagerline and the 'ask ten friends' method, you can get a very decent handle on where the public is.
