Do you tease stuff you wouldn't in regular season because it's the playoffs, and less games ?

I'm not a teaser specialist, stick to the traditional 6points +100, mainly that cross 3 and 7.

Probably many had the one I played this week:

Dallas +8
NE -2.5

that fits basic strategy.

Now next week I see Indy +4.5. Can you tease that to +10.5 as one leg ? You cross 7 and 10, is that good enough ? Are the points worth more in playoffs ? I don't think my book allows open spots, even if they do, there may not be a game the next week that crosses the 3 and 7.

I rarely play nfl teasers during reg season.

Most of my bets in playoffs are going to be teasers and are/will be large bets.

When I booked action, took some real ass kickings because all 4 sides of teasers won.

I still stick to teasing favs in playoffs, but thats just my own personal preference since I dont bet dogs unless I can justify them at the standard offered pointspread.

What are your standards ? What numbers to cross, what odds, how many teams, how many points on the teaser, etc. ?

The playoffs certainly expand ones teaser options.

Personally, very seldom do I tease a game if it doesn't go through the numbers 3 and 7 ............even in the playoffs. Have done so on rare occassions though.

So do you go to 10 pointers or something ? Too few games to find those crossing 3 and 7 ? I'm not great at teasers.

I wont bet a teaser if it doesnt take the fav to 2.5 or less. Seemed to be safer before the ignorant 2pt play.

If line of a fav I like is 7.5 I play the 6.5 pt teaser.

Being a dog bettor if Im playing a dog, I probably dont need the teaser pts to pull the trigger.

Another preference of my own is I dont tease totals within same teaser I have a side.

I dont bet them (lack of time), but if I was to bet the 10-14 pt multiple team teasers, Id focus more on totals and dogs.

I look at it as point buying, and you almost are allowed to buy 12 half points at 10 cents per, and get thru the 3, so that's the value, IMO.

You pay -240 basically on each part of a 6-point +100 two teamer, would be -230 buying, but nobody sells 12 half points, but you buy bad half points with it, like from +4.5 to +5, +5 to +5.5, etc.

Doug, I believe you math is a bit light since youd be paying more than the standard 10 cents to buy through 3 and probably also buying through 7.

That's what makes it good ! The garbage points like 5, 5.5 should be cheaper to buy, though !

You can't buy 12 half points like this in hoops, where each half-point has a more uniform value.

I sure miss the locals that used to allow the 13 pt teasers and same sides and totals in those bets. The 13 pt teasers were fun then. All rules were off when those were allowed.

Crossing those #s are the only real value I know of.

If you have to cross the 3, you can't tease Indy because they already are getting +4.5, then for this game you need Baltimore to cross the 3, so you need like a 10-point teaser then, right ? Then you cross the 3 twice ?

My +100 book allowed me to take Indy+10 which I set up with Philly-1.

I feel Philly play is stronger and am hopefully setting up the Indy play for a middle or in play action. I can get the Indy+10.5 at -110 but don't think the half is worth 10 cents as the 10 is not as key as the 3 and 7. I might get some more Indy if I can get +10.5 or better with a game I like next week.

BTW I took Indy/Patriots and have pretty well got it all middled at +8.5 to +11.

The Philly-NYG game was a winner for teaser players regardless how they bet the game.

My guess is games past couple days, books had plenty NE teaser action paired with either Indi and/or Philly.

Dont see another game I want to pair it with, but Chicago -8 is the team I would be teasing next week if I decide to bet one.

Maybe Phil/NO over or Neng, but dog teaser plays arent often my choice.

Obviously books agreed with me, since Chicago is now 9.5

Correct, but Chicago is available at -8.5 at some shops which teases to -2.5. The problem then is, apart from Indy, there is no side to tease with the Bears and generally I prefer teasing sides to totals. How do you feel about Ohio State-1? Never teased college before but can a case be made for this?

Doug, I don't really play them but know some people who do. I don't believe crossing through both 3s offer value because you are crossing zero. Never really seen the sharp guys do this.
