I think he did maybe even subconsciously, because he knew the 3 would not be enough and wanted to go for it. Also didnt like the running calls on 1st and 2nd down, If you play not to LOSE, YOU LOSE. He did have step and a half on the guy. 1:40 plenty of time to get 3 vs a soft Dal secondary.
