This will be the Chargers' biggest hurdle. NE is dangerous and Belichick will have a plan to slow down L.T. and make Rivers beat him. The Chargers WHOOPED NE in Foxboro last yr, and Brady was snubbed for the Pro-Bowl in favor of Rivers (what a joke). Harrison, Seau, and Caldwell are all ex-Chargers who hate Marty and A.J. So, NE has plenty of motivating factors. Lots of pressure on Marty in this game. I am nervous for the Chargers here, but happy NE doesn't have Vinatierri anymore. Can't wait to be at the Q on Sunday. THe joint will be rocking! I think this is the Chargers' year and feel very confident in saying NE will be their toughest test. Balt doesn't scare me, especially playing them here. LT would run all over the Colts. Whoever comes out of the NFC couldn't beat San Diego.

Philly is a live Dog against all AFC teams. solid on both sides of the ball and also a dominating running game.

Phily is small up-front and doesn't play the run well. They have done an incredible job with the talent they have, but the Chargers would steamroll Phily.

For all intensive purposes, this game is the superbowl.

I think NE will shut down LT and tell Rivers - beat us in your first playoff game.

Given that, I will happily take 11-1 Brady and the points.

Further, the Chargers may well have played the easiest schedule in football (Except maybe the Seahawks).

The only two games they played against playoff teams were Sea where they won by 3 and Balt where they lost by 3.

They have 14 wins, but many came against: Oak, TN, Pitt (When Pitt was a mess), SF, STL, Cle, Cinci, Denver, Oak, Buff, Denver, KC, Sea, AZ

One can make a case that Sea is the worst team in the playoffs...

New England did not play a lot of playoff teams, but have beaten the Jets twice and the Bears. they lost a close one to Indy. Overall, I think the schedule is a good deal tougher than SD.

SD lost their only superbowl contender matchup with Baltimore.

Just my thoughts.

Keep in mind that loss to Balt. came after a Chargers bye.

Chargers are pretty full of themselves right now...just like the Pittsburgh teams that the Pats went in and beat twice for the AFC championship.

The Ravens are much improved since the half way point...and are the team to beat.,,,just like the Super Bowl season the Ravens are flying under the radar nationally.

Brock-- I agree--no matter what happens during the year you know its going to be conservative Marty ball.

Probably going to take New England on moneyline.

i bet all you guys took NE last year in Denver right? The Pats are very beatable....i love Brady and the offense but their defense is what will let them down. San Diego should win it all this year

Sorry but you guys are very wrong about the 2006/2007 edition of Martyball. If that is your premise for taking the Pats then you are in trouble.

Marty has coached his ass off this year. There aren't 5 better head coaches in the league. Phillip Rivers will be the Chargers' undoing (if there is one). Should never have let Brees go. Can't blame Marty for that.
