I have stated in the past how much I love to read and now I was wondering if anyone has read anything interesting about bookies.

Don't worry not thinking of switching over to the other side of the counter:puppy: just love to read anything and everything I can get my hands on about gambling and this topic is one I have never read much about.

One book I have come acroos is " The Book on Bookies", anyone read this before? Also looking at a book called something like" Confessions of an Ivy league bookie", anyone or anyhting else. Thanks.

Have you read Mike Roxboroughs book on Sportsbook Management. Great read.

Sergio from Confessions of an Ivy League Bookmaker is a prominent forum poster.

sportsbook management I have heard was good, is it supposedly better than the book on bookies?

The main character in the Ivy league book posts here?

Three books that I own..

Superbookie by Art Manteris and Rick Talley..solid book by the Former SuperHilton SB Director and former Pittsburgh Jack Franzi disciple.

Fast Company by Jon Bradshaw..touches on related subject matter..a must.

Interference by Dan Moldea..an historical based NFL betting-oriented book that touches on many Bookies for quotes on NFL & it's betting history..

Two books that I do not own(but want to buy the Reizner book)..

Best Of Sonny Reizner by Marty Mendhelson..anecdotes by the legend.

Book On Bookies by James Jeffries..seemingly rather straightforward "how to" book based on it's description.

Book on Bookies I found rather dated. Would have been great 15 years ago. It emphasizes a lot of simple and basic business practices.

The Odds I found entertaining and a good read.

It has nothing to do with real life but the bookie storys in Dan Jenkins book "Dead solid perfect" crack me up.

'the odds' is an excellent book that any sports bettor will enjoy. only about 1/3rd of it focuses on bookies, in this case, the crew at the now defunct stardust.

I would suggest going to the Gamblers Book Club in Vegas and check out what they have. I'm sure they have a website. $1.99 for Super Bookie? That got me interested. Always need some new Bathroom reading material!
