and this is not a slam on Florida as I am betting more on them but the fact most bettors will tease this game tonite and going from -9 to -3 is VERY SMART. Just one of many tricks I would pull if I am a local.

I actaully try and help my local (not sure he needs it) as much as I can as he is young as not doiung as well as I think he should, a few stiff jobs can do that to you.

this question really cant be answered correctly by people on here...case in point...i KNOW local books around here got CRUSHED yesterday on pats and over...we were actually laughing about it at the bar when samuel ran in the INT for the last td of the game..37-16 dream score for the square local bettors...i said to my friends...i just heard a collective sigh across the state from the bookies who were praying for the backdoor 7 from the jets...

they coulda delt pats -12 yesterday and they woulda still wrote pats till they were blue in the face if they KNOW their customers....i know my old local knew i also played offshore...so if i woulda called him out of the blue and asked for a line he woulda given me the "real" line...in fact he used to admitt, ya your one of those internet bettors, the line...the line for you is teamA -7 (when im sure he was dealing 7' or 8 to his squares)....if you know your customers you can get away with a lot more especially on the marquee big games like tonight....but if you dont...you can get beat up pretty bad....

only the bookie would know what he can and cannot get away with....

BINGO

BUT people talk.

In the local bar that I go to, EVERYONE talks about what line they had - especially on Patriot games. Once people figure out that they lost a wager because their local dealt them a shaded line, they'll start looking for another out.

The one thing a local hates losing is guy who pays on time. It's better to let him win this one game (and he might even lose it) than risk losing his business forever.

The "square" side of this game is Florida. The only other bowl sides I could compare it to would be Tex A&M, Miami Fla., and Michigan. Good Luck

Squares don't bet a game a MONTH or even a WEEK before it is played. This line has gone from 8 to 8.5 to 7 and believe me, it wasn't "square" action that did that.

cincy, that's not my point( I know who moved this line). I'm talking about guys that are more "square" than the general public. They are all over Florida. Good Luck

You would have to expect to get a lot of Florida action though. As for the teaser, why be so worried about it. There is no good same-game teaser for this game. Let em tease OSU -1 with the total. Good deal for the bookmaker.

Well, I am a square and I like Florida too. I have the following:

2105 1st Half Tied, Florida wins Game +2779
and Florida ML +261

If he's a local in Ohio, yes. Actually I would expect most locals to get flooded with Oh St. Once you go to 7', may as well take a shot with 9.

I just asked a guy why he was betting on Florida? 1) Michigan's performance against USC, 2) LSU's rout of Notre Dame. I'm only the messenger. Good luck whoever you play.

Cincy it could go both ways....when players get a few extra points they're loving it and mention to others that the fellow down the road is dealing off lines.

.....it all depends on how sharp his lines are. He can deal this evenings bowl game at the Buckeyes -9.5 get a ton of action on the Gators.......and look very sharp.

1000% agree with this. The square money is -7.5 and up as most FANS of CFB think this has blow out written all over it. For a guy to let his money sit on the sdeline all month than he most have a pretty good idea on who he likes. The under also is sharp money. I have no opinion on the game but I will go with the smart money and bet Florida.

You guys give WAY WAY too much credit to the public. Call any of your locals and ask him who most bettors are betting and they are all over OSU and they don't care about the points they are giving up. Now I am not saying if I was a local I would get into to the habiit of moving numbers but in a BIG time game like this thru DEAD numbers it is a no brainer for a local who I promise you will get 5x more action on OSU, no matter the points and most importantly he kills all teasers (my point since the beginning).

The Pinny approach i quess would be good in a big game like this but i thought you were talking all the time to take shots and that would be a no=no. Watch Ohio st win by 8!!
