Tressel always plays not to lose. His gameplan is to take a lead and then run a boring vanilla offense, play field position and let the defense do the dirty work. This is easy to do when you are playing cupcakes like Illinois, Indiana, and the like, when you jump up 21-0 in the first quarter. I knew if this team fell behind early they wouldn't know what to do.

There is a reason you don't hear of rumors about the likes of Bill Belichick, Philip Fulmer, Mack Brown, Lloyd Carr, Tommy Tuberville, Bob Stoops and Jim Tressel while do you hear them about Nick Saban and Pete Carroll - they don't give you a HELL NO answer when the team sends out feelers.
Everyone is really overreacting to just one game...granted it was the national championship game.
This game told me two things:
1) Florida playing a perfect game is enough to blow out Ohio State at their worst.
2) Urban Meyer did a terrific job game planning and play calling, and Jim Tressel didn't start preparing for the game until two days ago.

Jim Tressel shows once again that he is the most overrated coach in America, without a doubt.
He was completely outcoached, out-gameplanned, out-strategied, out-motivated, etc., etc., etc.
I've been saying for 6 years that this guy is complete garbage and has no football mind whatsover. Absolutely none!! The guy couldn't coach himself out of a wet paper bag.
And people jump down my throat b/c I say this, HA!
The guy wins a national championship WITH COOPER'S PLAYERS, and manages to just about go 9-2 every other year, and everyone annoints this guy as a saint?? WTF? I just don't get it.
The cupboard wasn't exactly bare when Tressel came aboard. People seem to forget that of the 24 1st teamers (including the K an P) on that 2002 national championship team, 22 of them went on to get drafted. Now that's talent!! Clarett was Tressel's only recruit that played significantly on that team.
People also seem to forget that OSU was on the verge of a national championship just about every year in the 90's, but just couldn't win the big game under Cooper, another bad coach.
Can some people at least admit that Tressel is the biggest FRAUD out there?
