PHOENIX -- Apparently comfortable with the health of Randy Johnson after putting him through a physical on Monday, the D-backs have called a press conference for Tuesday afternoon to announce the completion of their trade with the Yankees.

D-backs officials announced the scheduling of the press conference, but declined further comment.

On Thursday, the D-backs and Yankees agreed on a trade that would send Johnson and $2 million to Arizona in exchange for reliever Luis Vizcaino and Minor Leaguers Ross Ohlendorf, Steven Jackson and Alberto Gonzalez.

Because Johnson had a no-trade clause and the D-backs wanted him to sign an extension before going through with the deal, the club asked for and was granted a 72-hour window to negotiate with Johnson's agents, Barry Meister and Alan Nero. The two sides finished the details Sunday on a two-year deal that will pay Johnson $26 million. According to The Associated Press, Johnson will receive a $12 million signing bonus, $3.5 million of which is payable this year, $500,000 in 2008 and $4 million each in 2009 and 2010. Johnson will have a salary of $4 million in 2007 and $10 million in 2008.
