Of course, that could be said about the majority of NBA and NHL games this evening.

It would be terrible if PITTSBURGH loses their NHL franchise to another city.

Talk about a team with great promise........HOLY SMOKES!

If they can't make a winner out of that roster - they never will. Man oh man are they packed with talent.

For offensive minded USA sports fans.............this team fits that category perfectly.

I see where PITT is finally working on a nice string of home sellouts..........as well they should be with this team.

The NHL better do something about this joke contract with OLN, because they're losing a hell of a lot of fans in the US. I think the leagues US fan base has really taken a hit since the strike.

Yeah - I hope its enough to warrant interest, but without a new rink even Mario has said he's not married to the city anymore (been good news the last few days on that though)

Now Washington...there's a team with potential but won't be long for for that city.

They would never be able to pay them. If they had sent Staal down to the minors this year, they could have spaced them out - but Crosby will be up soon, and then the other two will be up the next year and from what we see now, they will all be max. contract players.

I'm still trying to figure out how they managed to keep under the cap last year - much less now with the new Russian etc.

As a fan of a team with cap room...I can't say I won't be sorry to see talent his the market.

Well, Crosby is playing on the 2nd year of a rookie contract. The other two are on rookie contracts. Those three will take minimal cap space for the next 2 years and then Crosby will be up for free agency.

I was thinking more along the lines last year when they had Lemieux and Recchi and others on payroll.

Good for the fans - not many teams get Lemieux, Crosby and now another possible future superstud in Malkin in one generation. Well, not since the rigged draft days of old which gave the #1 pick each year out of Quebec to the Canadiens.

Agreed. Used to love watching playoff hockey and would watch the occassional regular season game. Yet with the OLN deal, i dont even know when hockey season is anymore. It is more like the WNBA than it is a major sport in the US. Need to get back to a major station carrying games, so if nothing else, we see commercials every so often.

The only thing that will give hockey any kind of a chance to approach major sport status would be going to four on four.
