McNabb will be the starter (depending on how rehab goes...no telling if he'll even be ready) and Garvcia will be resigned to be the backup. According to all reports in Philly papers, Garcia has no interest in being the starting QB for a shitty team like he was in Cleveland and Detroit. He has the "been there, done that" mentality with regards to being a starter if its on a shitty team. He'd rather have a chance to win, be in the playoffs, and maybe win a SB.

Garica is saying all the right things now. At the end of the day whichever teams offers him the most money he is going to go to.

If a below average team like Houston or Washington decide to open up the vault to sign him. He'll cash the cheque. Now if the Eagles decide to match whatever contract he may get in the off season then it could be tough but if another NFL team offers him starting QB type money it will be very hard for Philadelphia to match that for a backup with the cap.

This is probably correct. He probably is saying what everyone wants to hear, and good for him. But i still believe if the difference in pay isn't that much, he'll stay in Philly or go to another contender as a backup. Plus I'm not sure how big of a market there will be for a undersized QB who is closer to 40 than 30.

The Eagles definitly wouldn't break the bank to resign him, they never do for older players. Plus Andy Reid has a hardon for AJ Feely so even if Garcia doesn't come back, Reid will feel content with McNabb and Feely as his 2 QBs.

Come on Roach. The Eagles fans would never question Donovan as the starter, would they? They would never hop off of his bandwagon, would they? I actually am rooting for the Eagles win another game or two. It makes life fun around here. See, I'm not always hating on Philly. I'd love to see them match up with the real birds of football in the SB.

Get off Garcia's nuts...he's running the offense well but look at the defense...that's been the difference

They couldn't stop anybody beforehand...now they're playing well

If things go well this year and they win the SB, he will sign with whoever gives him the most money. At his age, he has to start thinking of one last huge payday before he hangs them up.

Actually the difference is we're running the ball 50% of the time opposed to 30% with McNabb. That's keeping the Defense off the field.

ANyways, I pray to GOD we have this problem next season. :103631605

And might be the better *all around* QB than McNabb.

It's amazing how a man like Garcia can take over for McNabb and show everyone how to run the Eagles offense and there are still people who say McNabb is better. Where do you guys come from.

Something happens right before your eyes and you refuse to admit what you are seeing. The media really has all you people up their a$$es pretty far.

Keep pretending McNabb and Troy Smith are these great QB's who hit their recievers in stride for touchdowns every game. NOT!

Yep, you are correct here. Garcia's value has been so overvalued in the media and the general public its ridiculous.

EDIT: BTW, Eagles wont win the Super Bowl and if pigs start flying and they do win it all, McNabb will be back as a starting QB.

McNabb will never start a game for the Eagles again if they win the super bowl. But they won't because they are getting the shaft from the N.F.L. this week playing on 6 days rest when they don't have too. They should be playing on sunday.

The league protecting McNabb maybe?

Only problem is that Reid is tight with McNabb.

That all changes if they win it all. You think for a minute Andy Reid would risk his job by putting McNabb back in there.

And that's not even the problem. The problem is that McNabb plays in Philly. The Philly fans will make it impossible for him to play there again. You can bet on that!

The damage might already have been done though. Philly fans are already hating each other because of what Garcia is diong. Long time Philly fans that ended up backing McNabb because they did win a little will never accept average play out of McNabb ever again.

McNabb now will have to be an all-pro to keep the fans from wanting his neck. Philly fans are the worst and they have been waiting to hate a player and McNabb just might fill the bill. I am from Philly and it's amazing how many people are seeing the truth about their QB play all these years.

As an Eagles fan who has seen every one of McNabb's games with the Eagles, and Garcia's recent stint, I strongly disagree. I do like the way Garcia runs the west coast offense, and wish McNabb had a little bit of his fire, but McNabb is a flat out stud in his own right. Just look at his record and his stats. The man can play, and there is no question he will be the starter as soon as he is healthy. That being said, the Eagles getting to the Super Bowl without McNabb, and possibly winning it, would just be the way things work in Philly. Please, Dear Lord, bring us this quarterback controvery!!!!

Agreed. Would also love to see Garcia back as Eagles back up next year, but he might chase another big payday. Who knows, after Cleveland and Detroit he probably realizes he's only a good fit in a West Coast offense, and I can't readily think of any WC offense teams looking for a number 1.
