I told someone to signup at olympic, and when they went to go request a withdrawal, they asked them to fax over id

the deposit wasnt made via credit card, and i finid this hard to believe a sportsbook would want your info like this.

would you trust this? I dont think its a good idea

especially not now

thoughts please

Yes, Greek is doing this now. I guess it protects against fraud. Since the summer.

sorry, I just noticed you said the deposit WASNT made by credit card.

Its still quite normal though, Mansion (and many others) do the same thing.

As for the Feds, they will never go after the individual gamblers.

They did this to me last year even after being a customer for 4 years before and requesting payouts. You have to comply.

Books have been asking to send identification at various times for at least 7 years. Probably longer. I have no idea what you mean by "starting this summer".

They handle money, just like any other financial institution. It's for your own security. As long as you're not using your daddy's credit card, or your roomates bank info just do it.

Feds will never go after individual gamblers

Quoted for emphasis.

I have this vision of a Federal class action against the Greek database of US clients. Court would be relocated to Fedex Field and televised. Jury and judge at mid-field and opposing attorneys stationed on the 30 yard lines.

Nah, it'll never happen.

I certainly will not go back to The Greek for this reason alone, and it is most certainly NOT normal. I play at 8 solid books that have NEVER requested this. Security? Bullshit. How does this help them? Do they check the photo to make sure it's you each time you make a w'd or deposit? lol i don't think so. Just another bullshit hoop to jump though to get your money.

I think they have some type of grandfather clause on this thing. If you have been with them for years with no problems, they dont make you send that info.

This is just for new people.

You would look at this much differently if someone hacked your computer, got your account info & emptied out your account.

Call it what you want, but it's nothing but a security measure to make sure that they are sending your money to YOU.

wait, so you're saying if someone somehow got my account info from The Greek and I already had an ID on file I would be protected how? I don't get it.
