I have done a 360 on this play and think SD is getting ZERO respect now vs NE

I said at the beginning of the playoffs that I was going to fade San Diego as they became the favorite of the public (IMO) and in a year where no team has emerged as a true favorite I just thought they would be overvalued. Now I think everything has changed as I am almost SICK of hearing the whole Bellechick and Brady angle versus the rookie QB and Marty. If I have to hear this reason again why NE will win I will puke. I don't recall a 14-2 getting less respect as SD has and it is to a team that really isn't anything out of the ordinary.

If New England didn't have the reputation of playing so well in big games than this 14-2 SD team would be a solid 7 point favorite (IMO). I just see a VERY FOCUSED SD team that has something to prove this weekend. Good teams take that next step and this is 2 teams going in the opposite directions (hunger wise espicially and age).

I say hammer SD this weekend and after they look good than turn around and fade them when the bandwagon gets full. Its all about value and I say the value with 14-2 SD at home versus a NE that seems to missing something to me.

ICE you don'y know me from Adam and may scoff at this, but I promise you SD wins that game. I know that team better than Marty does.

Problem I see is SD covering the number....likely will not be a problem, but it would not surprise me to see SD win by "only" a FG.

My bet: 2 team 6 point teaser 10:11

SD +1
NO +1

LARGE

May sound a bit square but gotta good feeling this cashes.

one thing I dont get on your logic you say "If New England didn't have the reputation of playing so well in big games " they dont have a reputation of doing that they plain and simple "have done that many times". the public and sharps know that so NE is value at any underdog price even on the road. What I mean is its not a FAKE hype sort of think on NE big game play.

the hype comes from a few years ago not in the now is my point. It seems like people are saying because they have done it in the past than they will continue to win big games. All good things come to end (ask Tressel). My point is that they should be a little more of a dog but the ONLY reason they are not is becaue of their PAST reputation, which to me means little or nothing on this game this year.

Its seems to be the biggest point made by everyone and the reason the VALUE is on the side of SD. Don't get me wrong I NEVER lay more than 3 in NFL but this is a rarity when a favorite who has the best record in the NFL and hads been the glamour team this year is now the dog (not in a point sense) but with the betting fans and the so called sharp media. I am not buying the hype. It just seems like everyone is out thinking themselves on this one.

All I know is that everyone is knocking Rivers and he's the best Qb in the 4th quarter! So who do they figure he won't show up in this game?

i think your all soft...the pats in the dog role is an AUTO-TAKE IMO......belichek is gonna make the rook beat him and if he does he will tip his cap and say well done....the pats have the 2007 version of JOE MONTANA at QB (REMEMBER THAT)...

you wanna fade this generations JOE MONTANA go rightahead...

ill take take take all day with the pats....christ like i told people today...they could lose 24-21 and the books around here will be crying in their soup.....

then again im a homer so what do i know....only that brady is like 11-1 in the playoffs LOLOLOL....

i've had enough of this Belichick and Brady hype by the media. Seems like they want to bang it in our head that due to history alone, this is an even matchup. Chargers would win this game if it was in New England, can't wait until Sunday evening I'm fed up with Patriots talk

I did the same thing with my Eagles. I loved the Saints but now I think Eagles win outright.

Technically speaking if you did a 360 you would be back to your starting point. So since you have changed your mind, you did a 180.

As a longtime Pats fan I am rooting hard for them but don't see them coming anywhere near to winning this game and if somehow they do and the Colts also win you can bet all you want on the Colts in the Dome.

IMO Chargers peaked in the season. I felt very strongly at some point as they were on fire it would cost them and this is a bad spot to go into. I think they are beatable with the right schemes, basically mostly focused on stopping LT's outside runs. If the Pats LBs can keep LT from putting up home runs down the sideline it comes down to Rivers winning the game, something I don't know if I trust him to do.

Anyways most reasonable power ratings have the Pats even or slightly better due to a tougher schedule. I think if anything the line is inflated for the Chargers, but some of it may be worthwhile due to the bye week. I think ML on the Pats is a reasonable value bet. Has zip to do with what they have done in the past, this team is in better form than the Chargers right now, forget about the season long records.
