They will either shut down or sell the company. There is no way they can stay in business because they just shut off 60 to 70 percent of their accounts. I still think it may even be a bit higher percentage than that. I don't buy for the second the rhetoric of Pinnacle "stepping up" their advertising in other countries. Bullshit. Any serious bettor anywhere in the world already would have had a Pinnacle account so an advertising campaign isn't going to generate anywhere near the amount of new accounts to replace the ones they just let go with their decision to shut off US customers.

Pinnacle has always been a sportsbook that doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks. They do things exactly as they want, when they want and how they want to do them. So why would the top sportsbook in the world pay any attention to a US law that isn't worth the paper it's printed on? The US government has no jurisdiction whatsoever over an offshore gaming company based in another country. Some chickenshit books that caved in to the US government will most likely be allright in the long run because they had a fairly small percentage of their account holders that were US customers. Pinnacle can't stay in business without the US market. This is just my opinion but I think the owner or owners of Pinnacle are going to take their profits, close or sell the company, and ride off into the sunset. I don't think they will stiff anyone but they know full well that the company can't stay in business without the US market so this was just the beginning of the end of Pinnacle

Pinnacle will be gone in 3 months and probably sooner than that.

The same type of thing was said about Party Poker and they are doing fine.

The more savvy gamblers will find a way to still bet with them. I got to believe it will be the high-stakes bettors. I think they'll be the premier standard that we compare all books to, for years to come.

the title of this thread is wrong .

Pinnacle is already gone , it should be " Neteller will be gone within 3 months "

probably earlier .

I did an entire write up on MW back in the spring when a poster started who will by Pinnacle thread. Laid it all out the way it will go and why it should go that way.

Neteller is not going anywhere. Just changing stripes. But, only if they have too.

This so called UIGEA has not been funded yet, nor will it.

Said poster, whom IS known refused a limit bet from me on the situation at the time.

Also remember the term, Second Click Magic. No one has gone anywhere it the big picture. Mark my words.

Neteller will be in business after the next 3 months, maybe not for US citizens but they'll be around.

Soccerbob if you want to make a friendly wager concerning Pinny let know.

Don't see it happening. As the US leads the way to curb online betting/gambling, the rest of the world will lean towards legalizing/regulating it.

Sorry to say, but the US government has once again, made the decision regarding what's best for it's people. What a joke! lol

Online gambling has yet to reach its highs. Countries will follow Englands lead in legalizing/regulating it and everyone will benefit. Sad part of it is the US has already made a stand and will never follow. It's just like with everything else in the world, if they cant control it/make the rules, they are against it and try bully anyone who is for it.

Pinny will miss the US clients, but they will survive. There are other people in this world who gamble, and Pinny will focus on bringing in these clients over time.

And regarding Neteller, they will just follow suit and cut off the US clients. That's all. Business as usual.

Thems the breaks for our good friends in the US. Maybe one day you will have a government that doesnt decide what you do, when you do it, and with who. Big brother is always doing what's in your best interest right ?

Flaws:

Any serious bettor anywhere in the world already would have had a Pinnacle account

Wrong. The US will only account for a fraction of serious bettors in the world, so unless pinny relfected that ratio then there are plenty of serious bettors to pick up. Despite what you think america is not the centre of the universe.

isn't going to generate anywhere near the amount of new accounts to replace the ones they just let go

Pinny doesn't need to 'replace' the accounts as not all customers have left. Many of the serious bettors will stay.

There is no way they can stay in business because they just shut off 60 to 70 percent of their accounts.

Doesn't tell the whole story, not only will they retain the action of serious bettors, the revenue of non US customers includes books that lay off to pinnacle. I have no idea what the figures are but I would think that action from other books may represent a decent amount of action for pinny.

So why would the top sportsbook in the world pay any attention to a US law that isn't worth the paper it's printed on?

Maybe they want to go public, maybe the owner was getting heat or pressured. Who knows, but there are many possible reasons.

Some chickenshit books that caved in to the US government will most likely be allright in the long run

Books that are publicly listed wouldn't want trouble from the US.

The US government has no jurisdiction whatsoever over an offshore gaming company based in another country.

Not having jurisdiction doesn't mean the US can't do anything about it.

Pinnacle can't stay in business without the US market.

The US represents little to no business for many sportsbooks across the world.

This is just my opinion but I think the owner or owners of Pinnacle are going to take their profits

Why? There is still a fortune to be made off keeping the company running.

Pinnacle will be gone in 3 months and probably sooner than that.

Most likely scenario is that only get bigger and better.

You're wrong.. infact Pinny is getting bigger and better... They have been getting ALOT of new signups from asian and european countries after they advertise heavily on livescore.com and other chinese base forums..

Their low vig for Asian Handicaps on all major european soccer leagues have been spreading faster than fire in the forest. Also.. if you do visit those chinese base forums. You will notice NBA is beginning to be very popular among the chinks.. Last but not least I guess the strongest factor is.. if you take the survey from AC nielsen or something like that.. if you see the list of countries with the most gamblars in the world.. the top 3 are asians.

What Mr J said. There are huge books already that doesn´t have U.S clients who do very good. Pinnacle will be just fine, no doubt about it.
