Mike Holmgren said it after the Seattle game. Bill Cowher says it as well. The announcers said that Marty Schottenheimer said it about his playoff record, and now I hear Paula Abdul saying it on her drunken video.

Let's put a stop to this stinking phrase somehow. It is picking up steam and it could get ugly.

Thank you. I hate that quote. Don't know where it started, but it is not good.

Picking up steam? This phrase has got to be at least a few years old.

The phrase is many years old, but I heard it at least three times in the last 24 hours, and I am telling you that it is picking up steam.....and it is a stupid phrase.

Bill Cowher's favorite phrase. He used it at least 3-4 times at every press conference

Not nearly as bad as when these talking heads/sportscasters/espn morons would use "literally" as an intensifier, ad nauseum..."Giambi literally carried the A's on his back tonight"...that shit would drive me up a freakin' wall...
