Just like to say Ted Ginn Jr will blow in the pro's... Jarret is the second best reciever in the class by far... and Ginn will not be any good... but who cares... WHOEVER finds the next Colston will get the best reciever in the draft... Respect to him Chop I love that guy... he is a great story and dynamite...he scares me

the general manager who takes ginn before jarrett is taking a MAJOR gamble. ginn's speed is off the charts. but he isnt anywhere near the receiver jarrett is.

really dont see troy smith going before the 3rd or 4th round.

the best player to come out of ohio state this year will be anthony gonzalez.

I am just saying that because there are always these really fast guys in college that blow in the pros because they don't have great hands and they CANT RUN A ROUTE worth a damn... ANd I also don't think he is that agile... They say he is a great punt and kick returner but he just seems to out run everyone which won't happen in the pros... think Jarret knows how to run routes and use his body to make a play... SPEED IS SO OVERRATED at those dumb combine meetings...

Jarrett's got the "USC Receiver" tag stuck on him that RJ Soward and Meshawn both had... Not a ringing endorsement. Joe Thomas and Calvin Johnson are both interesting propositions. If everyone goes on the assumption that the Lions and Raiders are taking Quinn and Russell in some given order, many think that the Browns are going running back, possibly Adrian Peterson, while the Bucs become the wild card. The Bucs really need a RT, meaning Joe Thomas would be the choice... but they also need a receiver pretty badly as well... meaning it could be Calvin Johnson. Alan Branch would be a decent fit for them as well. If Johnson slips past the Bucs, Arizona won't take him... Washington already has about a billion dollars wrapped into WRs, which could leave Minnesota sitting there with a gift at pick #7. But the Vikes also have all sorts of issues and could go Marshawn Lynch or someone like that, but I ultimately think Lynch (unfortunately) is going to end up as a Texan.

If I had to guess right now, assuming everyone stays in their slots (Bucs and Browns... I don't think they make a difference which is 3 and which is 4)...

Raiders: Russell
Lions: Quinn
Browns: Peterson
Bucs: Johnson
Cardinals: Thomas
Redskins: Adams
Vikings: ... I really haven't figured out which way the Vikes are gonna go from here...
Texans: Lynch
Dolphins: Hall
Falcons: Jarrett (or maybe Ginn)

As a Texans fan, I'd love to see Joe Thomas slip that far... I just don't think he's gonna get past Arizona at 5. If not, I'd either like to see the Texans trade down and end up with Landry (as safety is the team's biggest need as far as I'm concerned) or stay where they are and take Branch. This would give the Texans a massive front line of Weaver, Branch, Johnson, and Williams, and leave DeMeco free to take the "Brian Urlacher role" in the defense. Leon Hall wouldn't be a poor selection either, as Faggins/Sanders/whichever stiff they throw out there isn't gonna cut it as a 2nd corner, and I think we proved that this year.

I'd take the Guy with the best GPA from the list in the 1st round.....

BTW when stats are listed, why don't they include the players's GPA

or is this what they mean when they say break below as in...

If Jarrett doesn't break 4.5 in his 40 time, he won't even go in the 1st rd.

CHOP, they're not predicting the Saints to take him. This is just a list of their top 32 prospects; it's not based on which team will take who.

Jarrett is no better than Mike Williams was at USC. These USC players don't face NFL players til they get to the NFL and then they are in shock.

Anthony Gonzalez is so far overrated in Ohio it's sickening. He's the #1 receiver in the country that benefited from double teams to the opposing WR (Ginn in this case). I know how many of his catches went for 1st downs, I know how he is rumored to have a nice 40 yard dash time, but his actual functional football speed, is not the same as his 40 speed, and when he was depended on as the go-to WR when Ginn went out, it became very apparent that he cant get much seperation from college cornerbacks, much less pro ones. He may make a nice slot WR, or 4th option, but there is no way in hell this guy will be able to get seperation from stud NFL CB's.

I dont know, that guy does not strike me as an NFL WR, and I wouldnt be surprised to see it end up that he ends up being a major NFL bust and fall off the face of the earth.

Just my opinion, of course.

been watching gonzalez since high school and the kid keeps getting better every year. one game against florida isnt going to change that. every player on ohio state's roster, including the coaching staff, was dominated by the gators. that stuff happens.

but gonzalez has an incredibly high football iq, he's been a winner at every level, he has legit speed, and he runs great routes with sure hands. his size is the only real drawback. he is well ahead of ginn in terms of being an nfl receiver.

take it from someone who doesnt even like ohio state, yet has reluctantly watched every game -- gonzalez is very good. hes also a kid who continues to, and wants to, improve.
