There would not be a more perfect fit for the CHICAGO BEARS next season then signing Jeff Garcia.

If the Bears make this move, it instantly puts them in the NFC Championship game next season, with the chance of actully winning the whole thing.

If Chicago does not make a really strong push to sign him, it would be a huge mistake.

Philly, right or wrong is going to stick with McNabb.

If I was a Chicago fan, I would be highly pissed if the Bears did not do everything in there power to get him.

He is an unrestricted free agent.

No Bears don't run the west coast offense and do you remember how bad Garcia was in Cleveland when they didn't run the west coast offense...

Also Grossman will be a pro bowler next year g'teed

Grossman will not be a Pro-Bowl qb next year...The better qb on the team is Griese. Lovie smith likes Grossman and will be loyal to the end with him. I said it before and will say it again..THe bears will not win a S.Bowl with Grossman as QB.

This is comming from a Chicago guy

Garcia played in Detroit last year and they ran the West Coast offense with him there and he had a HORRIBILE season.

Gawd damnit. I hate being on the same side of themanej here. :dancefool

But Rex Grossman is going to be a good QB. Not gonna promise any pro bowls next year, but it's not hard to see the guy has terrific arm strength, has great bounce in the pocket, stays on his toes, throws a pretty deep ball - just making young guy mistakes right now and he's learning.

Even though he's in his 3rd year or so, he hasnt played many games, and has never had a chance to get into a rhythm and play consecutive games until this year. Now he's got a playoff win under his belt, especially one that he was directly responsible for. He is only going to get better once he learns to limit the turnovers. It will come. But you cant replace the raw tools and raw ability to play QB that he has. If he limits the turnovers, he has the potential to be a pro bowler every year. It would be DUMB to discard him, and for Brian Griese of all people. Brian Griese has never done anything consistent everywhere he has gone, he is not all of the sudden going to be good. Everyone loves the backup.

why the love for Garcia? He is good in the backup role...besides, Chicago needs a more run oriented offense...Grossman airing it out 2 out of 3 downs every possession is not the answer. Could Garcia work...maybe, but why is signing an overrated FA the key to making you a SB contender?

You guys are nuts. Grossman has way more upside than Griese or Garcia these days. Not even close. Grossman has the tools. And despite the GB oops, he's a pretty serious guy and a hard worker. He's going to be good, especially if he can have a line that gives him better protection. He's one of those guys that is very dependent on his line at this point. Not great when he's pressured, but deadly good when given time. Bears have to stay with him for sure. Garcia might still be fine next year, but if you think he has more than 2 good years left TOPS you're crazy.

Garcia went on a lucky run. Still doesn't change the fact that he has a pop gun arm (though he did surprise the hell out of me throwing the ball downfield this year).

themane - It is almost sickening how arrogant you are kid. I have never seen someone think that everything single thing they say is correct no questions asked. I am surprised you even posts on this site. Its all about what you think and say.
