Get the fuck out of the US already!

I have never seen such a combination of ignorance and arrogance.

They are so bright yet so dumb.

How the hell can you be sitting on 8+ figures and be in California...

There are a whole hell of a lot of nice beaches outside the US. And if you want to be here, change your identity already.

Any and all offshore sportsbook owners should never sit foot on American soil.

Believe the intelligent ones never will.

Why would they?

Family and friends...the things that are important to them.

They knew what they were getting into before they made the move offshore............if family and friends were more important than the mighty dollar, they should have never went into the offshore business in the first place.

By the way, HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of Americans took the latter approach and stayed put in the United States rather than opening a gambling shop offshore.

Also, with the money they have made offshore, why not just send their friends and relatives on a paid vacation to visit them...........which I'm sure many have done.

The few major players that I know that still own and operate offshore tried moving their entire family out with them when they made the decision to move offshore. Living offshore sounds exciting and fun to some, but raising a family in a 3rd world country quickly gives a reality check.

When they moved offshore they never planned on not being able to return to the states.

What is the difference in what they are doing and the local on the street that still resides in the states?

I know this much, one of the most respected bookmakers on this site that everyone is moving their money to these days travels back and forth quite a bit. He even pays taxes on his offshore sportsbook revenue in the states.

Federal penitentiaries do allow visitation.

They wouldn't get enough time to see the inside of a Pen. Most likely a camp !

I don't get why these guys have such a "clean paper trail" right to them.

I'll go down there and be the "figure head" of Pinnacle if they want.

As weird as this may sound, I think these forums are somewhat to blame. A lot of confidential information that should never see the light is passed along freely on these forums. Most of these offshore books should show over-seas lawyers as the owner, with bearer shares only to link the real owners. These guys could have kept their moderate sheet going and made a decent living overseas. Problem is, a little bit of arrogance and greed gets to them and they start to talk. Pretty soon you have everyone in the forum knowing who owns what, first names being said, etc. Think about it.. how many sportsbooks owners have you heard of on a first-named basis. I would say a decent amount.

Add to that the Bodog, BetUS, et al way of thinking... You have BOOKMAKERS thinking they are fortune 500 companies and appearing in Forbes, taking out ads in the biggest publications or biggest billboards in the country etc. A lot of this could have probably been avoided if the main guys would have kept it a little more underground,a nd stayed true to their roots of a common street bookie.

You guys seem to think that not being able to return to the U.S. for the rest of one's life is no big deal. Live in another one of these shitass countries for a while and see how great of a country we have. I did.

Exactly.

These offshore places sound like a great time, and they are...in moderation. Living there for the rest of your life without the possibility to return to the US is not something I would do for any amount of money.

Are you forgetting how much money we're talking about?

There are other countries you can go to by the way. Just not the US.

"Home costs dearly"...that was a great line from "Munich"

What's it worth to never return to your home, where your children will live and your ancestors are buried?

And FAttony...you're forgetting that they have a chance to keep the money and go back to the states if they get out of the biz now, kind of like what Pinny did. Expect some more dominos to fall. Big dominos.

You do not have to live in a shithole country.

Last I checked, you can live in Canada, Spain, England, Ireland, France, ITaly, Germany, Brazil Australia, Japan, etc etc etc... Nothing says you must live in an island nation forever.

Show up at any of those countries with a few million ready to invest in enterprise and you will be welcomed.

If you want to come to the US, change your name already. How much do you think a Passport costs? I would say well under $25,000...

And no, you can not get out now and return to the states. The neteller guys were out...
