I hope this does not get moved, because this is certainly offshore sportsbook related.

Lets say Hillary or Obama became the next U.S president, would this mess lighten up any?

And last but not least, some of these canidates are promising to get rid of the PATROIT ACT, which is the leading cause of all this mess we are going thru right now.

Is there anyway in hell that we will ever get rid of the PATRIOT ACT, or is this just lip service?

I remember reading in some political forum that once legislation is passed it is 10 times harder to have that legislation repealed than to pass it in the first place. Might the long term US plan be to legalize all this? Perhaps, but I think that's wishful thinking.

I do believe a new president would no longer push this issue. That would make the current situation not get any worse, but I don't see it getting any better either. If this is something you must do, in my opinion, you can either move to where its not a problem or get creative.

None of this legistlation will ever go away. Someone with a lot of money has a hard on for online gambling. Until that person dies, this shit will keep happening.

The best thing to do is set up your account in Canada and simply not worry about this shit anymore.

If it is legal to bet in Las Vegas, then why the hell cant a bookmaker just open up an online betting web site where people from around the USA could place bets much like they do now at offshore places.

Tax it , regulate it, do whatever..........I dont understand why this is such a freaking problem to do. The US is so hypocritical and biased when it comes to setting policy on things.

Well, lets see, we have 50 states......1 state can bet on sports and the other 49 cannot. WTF?

I hope you know that most of "us" have familys and real estate here, and wont just leave to Canada because of the Patriot Act

Nope...there's a Federal law against sports gambling with exceptions made for a few states including Nevada and Oregon (who run a NFL parlay card deal as part of their lottery). So even if individual states wanted to legalize sports gambling they can't under Federal law.....

They were "grandfathered" into the Federal legislation as they had some sort of sports gambling going on at the time....some state representative in Delaware actually is trying to get the state to revive sports wagering:
