"These three people executed a sophisticated system that allowed them to cheat at least one casino out of a significant amount of money," Detective Inspector Darren Warner of the Metropolitan Police's Gaming Unit said.

The casino wouldn't be out anything, only the other players at the table. I don't understand how the guys in the van were helping by telling them what to bet except for the collusion factor. It is not like they could see everyone's cards.

The camera would pick up the cards as they were being dealt to at least some of the players.

When i was on vacation on some small island about 15 years ago i remember one dealer at a carribean stud poker game would show her cards as she placed them on the table if you could get your head low enough to the table. Unfortunately i was scared of my own shadow back then and stopped playing after raking in a small profit out of fear of getting caught.

how? was their sleeves long enough to reach behind the dealer? The dealers' had to be in on it because a good dealer would not show cards being dealt from any angle on the table.

I used to deal and when you deal cards your hands are generally 6" or so off the table. If you are sitting next to the dealer and you have a camera in your sleeve pointing up to dealers hands, i could easily see being able to pick up some of the cards.
