Here in Ohio where gambling and slot machines are illegal, small gambling shops have been popping up EVERYWHERE. Inside these gaming shops are supposed "games of skill". They are basically slot machines that you have to manually stop with a button to line up the cherries or whatever (Think Mario Brothers 3 where you had to line up the 3 pieces of mushroom, flower, or star). I saw one of these shops a few years ago and thought no way will this fly. They call poker a game of chance and they are going to call this a game of skill? But these shops have been popping up (and thriving of course) in every town both big and small all over the state and this has been going on for years. How in the hell is this possible? So I can open up a "games of skill" slot machine parlor and it is perfectly legal yet the local pub can't have a weekly poker tournament? I can go blow my paycheck on these bogus slot machines in my own neighborhood but I cant login to Pinny and get down on the Spurs Rockets game? How do these shops stay open? Slots licensing was on the ballot in Ohio this year by the way and got shot down by a fair margin

www.tictacfruit.com is the main slot that is being played in these shops.

pkj, i live right on the border of wv and ohio... im involved with the lvl (slots) in wv... and i can tell u in no way are their any skill involved... any machine that has a percentage of payout programmed is not "skill"... these machines will be gone very soon as the ohio attorney general said a couple of weeks back that there is no skill involved at all.... just a matter of time until these places are shut down... now as far as the locals go, woody hit the nail on the head police on the payroll...

Where do you live at anpyanks? I am originally from East Liverpool - right on the Ohio/WV border. I figured they would get shutdown right away. Instead they continue to popup everywhere. From a big city like Youngstown to a wealthy Youngstown suberb of Boardman to the dirt poor village of Wellsville. Obviously there is no (very very little) skill involved - can't believe they have gotten away with this as long as they have.

Yea I know where that is - small world. I am actually looking for a place to rent in the East Liverpool area right now. I wish West Virginia/Mountaineer would get tables games so I could play some live poker over there. Any chance of that happening anytime soon?
