Tips on Beating my Local Bookie??

In the wake of everythign going down, it looks like i'm gonna be playing with my local book heck of a lot more. Only problem is that betting online is so much more beneficial. I'd always be able to find at least a .5 point if not more better online than I can betting with him. And the times i couldn't find a better line, i'd still be able to bet reduced juice.

His lines are always right off the Don Best screen so I can't bet steam. A push is a loss on Teasers. He has full 10% juice. I can only call in my plays on gameday, so locking in a good number the night before or earlier in the week isn't an option...

So what tips do you fellas have on ways to beat this guy?

totals, was always the place i could beat pinnys numbers.

(pinny) dal/sa over 185 (-1.17)
(local) dal/sa over 185 (-1.10)

he ran (-1.10) on everything........ picked up the better deals on totals.....

A trick I use: call the guy and get the numbers as early as you can and then tell him you will call back in a little bit. Bet steam off the screen with him as late as possibile. Mix it up. Next day just call late and bet right off the screen, most books will take the number from 6-630 est and not move it, so be prepared with late line moves, knowing beforehand which games have moved in last hour and bet them. Look for 1 point edges.

Also good to take any NBA dog that he has a half point off just to keep him honest and still are decent bets, even some that haven't moved are okay so he isn't on to you as much. Another NBA trick to use is to bet games that have higher than normal juice at Pinny with the same number with late west coast games( example LA -2.5 -110 at 6:30 @ Pinny so bet it now and it goes to -3 later at nite) because they usuallly go up right before gametime, it keeps you looking like a dumbass because you are playing chalk but they end up being good bets when they close a half point higher and he is in bed.

Also look for line value and bet all games that have are off by a point. Some book wills move some numbers because of heavy action creating value, bet all of them.

Bet small because you want to fly under the radar.

Like someone else said. Find another local. The more the merrier. If you work hard enough at this you can turn this into a winning situation.

Unless he deals you a # thats at least 1/2 pt better than what you know is widely available, dont bet any teasers with this guy.

Joke locals like this are the reason guys started playing offshore in the first place.

Agree with iceman...its best to be smaller than any locals average customer. If hes a guy booking mostly 50 dollar players, its not a shop for you if you are throwing around dimes.

If you are calling about the playoff ne/ind game and you are thinking about betting indy...ask him..."whats the neng game line?" You may get a extra half throwing off his mind by saying new england. Always do that with isolated games.

Although there are some setbacks with dealing w a local............. you can always get great value on certain plays......
whenever there is a game (football) near three......... it may be a 'weak' 3 or 'strong' 3............. they dont adjust the juice, and will have it at 2- or 3 ...............
ive blasted my man the entire season, when he has to make the decision where to put the number :suomi:

ive also told my local advantages w playin online and he has done what he can to not lose my business........
he lets me bet whenever i want ........ i will call him in the morning or at night and ask him 'is your computer on, i need a line'

here my tip and not sure as i type this this how sharp your locals are.but over the years i have put a couple bookies out of business here.wait until the last mins to put down a wager,get a good line service and learn the sharp line moves and this will help with a local and it really will help on weekends as there are more game.this will help when you bet with locals.i have guys in my area that was getting kill by locals and when they ask me to help get some of their money back.i had them to wait until the last min call me and i gave them the game and it turn for them.one guy was playing like 12 games a day down 100k and in 6 months he was ahead,he was playing for action not to win and his man was taking him to the cleaner.just my thoughts....ck

sort of my point also. Just bet the good line versus the bookie. No capping involed. Mix some things up when you call them but the longer you wait the more his numbers beome soft.

he line at Pinny, Greek, Cris, etc and the MILLIONS of dollars bet into it is much sharper than any local could ever put out.

when you placed a wager at Pinny who's line did you bet? you bet the line pinny put out, not cris, not betjam, not 5dimes. when you place a wager you bet the line the book puts out, not some mythical sharp's that you aspire to be.

read my post above yours. Go bet the bad line at square books or scalp and middle and telll me why EVERYONE ends up beating the bad number all day. Like I have said before, I bet 30 plays a nite with the Pinny lean and it is 95 % reason why I win (at the slow moving book and with some locals).

I can't beat many sharp books but give me a book that moves slow and it is not difficult. Beat a book enough to the number and you will get booted and same with a local, see how he feel if you beat his number.

Research the Pinny lean on here. That should give you enough info.
