I sure hope this doesn't mean Indiana still wants Maggette (they tried to trade Artest for Maggette). I have a bad feeling this could be a short stop for Dunleavy Jr and he could be playing for his bonehead father real soon.

Here is my quick fantasy implications:

Good news for:
Biedrins owners as murphy and diogu leave town, leaving only Foyle to back him up.

Dunleavy- I think they may actually allow him to play more.

Jackson owners- Have to think the up tempto style will help his numbers

Harrington owners- definitely good news as he was not too happy in indiana.

Murphy owners- They should give him plenty of minutes, which could mean a return to last years numbers.

bad news for:
Pietrus and barnes- both may lose their starting jobs

possibly good news for:
Marquis daniels- Tons of talent, may be given a shot.

Why on earth would you get rid of Jackson?!

Pacers are getting ripped on this deal. Lose most of the little scoring punch they have.

No doubt about it. Theyre going to be a real methodical and boring team that struggles to score.

This trade must have something to do with Pinnacle shutting down and the Neteller arrests!!!!

No question!

We got rid of Jackson because A) he may end up in jail b) nobody is paying to watch these hudlems play any longer... Really wish it would have been Tinsley instead of Jasikevisious... Larry will get this team in the white ... I mean right direction.. Hoosiers sick of the nonsense. Havent been to a game in 2 years and used to be a season ticket holder!!!1

Unlike Carlisle, Nelson will be hitting the player's pockets if they do anything to disrupt the team chemistry. Carlisle looks like a mean sob on the court and in interviews, but he doesn't seem to handle these "thug" personalities very well. Donnie will get the job done with a nice fine when Stephen decides to roll in Oakland rather than practice.

This is a great trade for Indy.

I don't agree. Dunleavy Jr. is the biggest basketball liability second only to SR.

Harrington is a good/great player. Getting rid of Jackson is a bonus in itself since he was a locker room killer who wore out his welcome. Jasikevicius is just a player. He isn't going to get any better then he is now, and Powell is a throw in.

Murphy when healthy is the type of player winning teams need. Unselfish, does the dirty work, rebounds and can score. Dunleavy is well Dunleavy but being around Bird can't hurt him. Ike Diogu is a promising young big guy in a league where bigs with talent are hard to find. There are some if's but I think looking back in a couple of years Indy can claim to have three players in there rotation from this deal where as G.S I can only see Harrington being of value 2 years from now.

unfortunetley Indy didn't win on this deal...even if Jackson had problems outside of Basketball, they didn't get his true value. He carried a gun but also had that killer instinct on the court. Indy took 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Good post. Basketball is my favorite sport to watch but I would not go to a nba game if someone gave me a ticket.

Jackson should enjoy oakland...but he better watch his back for oakland is where alot of true gangbangers roam.

The only NBA action I see is whatever they show on Sportscenter. That is more then enough for me :howdy:

This is a good trade for both teams, IMO.

Golden State gets three players who fit perfectly in their offense and are upgrades defensively, and more importantly, were unhappy playing in the offense they were in Indy. They also got a much better backup for the oft-injured Baron Davis. They also got rid of some huge contracts for a little less huge ones.

The Pacers, meanwhile, got rid of two players who were unhappy and unproductive...and they added Murphy, who should be able to help open things up for O'Neal, as well as Diogu, who could very well turn into a star. That guy's got tremendous upside, but couldn't get any run in Golden State. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be the best player involved in this trade.

Rarely do you see a trade that benefits both teams; I think this is one of those few. Just my opinion, though.
