which is best? Ive never had a satellite before do they have many problems?

Im leaning towards getting dish network, I dont care about the NFL package too much. Any other important differences?

Also Ive heard directtv customer service is atrocious which is leaning me more towards dish network

No man, for HDTV, Movies and sports, DIRECTV is the only way to go.

Customer service is not bad with directv. Been with them for over 10 years.

Satalite is the way to go you have very little problems with satalite if you hang the dish under a eve. I love direct tv picture and channels their customer service sucks. I have both dish network and Dtv and Dtv is the best. I still have basic cable also and it still sucks even with a digital box.

Mr Smith, I got Direct TV just for the NFL Ticket. I will no longer have the NFL Ticket but will stay with Direct. I like them.

I see you guys have completely revamped your offensive staff. How do you feel about that. Looks good to me. I might go into retirement and then will go to all Gator games. Hang in there. LT:sad3:

I got both.... prefer DirecTV cause I like to channel surf and Dish Network is slooooooow and there's a delay whenever you switch to another channel.

Plus there's so many Dish Network channels where when you switch to it it begins to download crap and you're sorta stuck there for a while. Hate their remote too.

As for customer service, when I first activated Dish Network the Indian woman was rude and didn't understand English very well.
Also was charged $5 when I switched plans.

Only reason why I signed up with them was because the house already had the dish installed.

1. Dish has WAY more HDTV programming (OWN Voom)
2. DirecTV sued almost 15000 customers without cause
3. Dish has the best recievers in the model 622

Only DirecTV advantage ... NFL

(IF anyone wants any backup info on the statements above I will provide)

how many HD channels does Directv have?

i'm starting to explore this type of cable as well...i have Charter Communications & looks like i will pay about the same price per month for Directv - but Directv has a LOT more perks. And I'm sure they have better customer service than the a-holes @ Charter.

Any reasoning not to change?

...and, on average how much do each of you pay?

I just did their package setup...biggest channel package, 2 receivers, no additional packages...and came out to like $92 for 1st month...so is that $92 for every month?

seems too good to be true...

DIRECTV threatend 15000 customers without cause. I was one of those 15000. If anyone was dumb enough to fall for there threats, they deserve to be sued.

Voom sucks!!! I cant think of anything on VOOM, I would want to watch.

By AUG 1st, Directv will have over 150 HD channels, the ones that people really want to watch.

Just a quick hint for those that might not know, want to knock down your cable bill a little, its very easy.

call your cable company up and connect to the people that activate and cancel accounts. tell them you are thinking of switching or are switching to sat tv because of the price. 9 out of 10 times they will offer you something cheaper than what you currently pay.

I found this out when I switched the first time, I had already signed the paperwork to switch, but got damn near every family member and friend to pull this and it worked for every single one. Just a little something to save a few bucks a month...
