Quick Question about Checks from Books

I have never received a check from a sportsbook before - from what I can see, they are cashier's checks, or "bank certified" checks - what exactly does this mean for someone that is depositing one of these checks into their bank account here in the States? Will the checks be allowed by the bank, or is there something about them (being from a sportsbook, etc) that would keep banks from processing them normally?

Or is it just that you have to cash these checks from a check cashing place, or random bank?

Many books send them off US checking accounts :) the offshore industry is not that offshore... Most come from the FL area.

So does this mean I'd pretty much be able to cash them at, say, a check cashing store? I ask this because I have just experienced a banking issue which was gambling related. In short, my bank account was "suspended"....I'm thru tying my bank account into my offshore accounts. Just wondered if a check would be able to be cashed with ease?

I have cashed them before here in New York without any issue at check cashing stores. Twice they had to call and verify funds but never had any problems.

Solid Pays bank account at the Bank of Montreal. You won't have any problem depositing these checks in your account. May take a week or so for them to clear if they are from outside the U.S. - so don't go writing checks off of them too soon.

I was researching this

come to find out the checks solidpay sends out are from the bank of montreal

but they are a united states branch out of chicago

I believe they have a branch in new york as well

I dont like the fact that they are using US banks to draw checks

so easy to follow that trail....so easy
