If the government wants a piece of the action or they want to keep all the money in the US, then why not let Vegas establish an online service?

because that is the obvious thing to do and the good ole' USA gov does not do the easy and obvious things its about POWER and CONTROL over your life and they are loving that

they could knock out 1/2 of the countries debt by regulation online gaming and charging 1$ a bet or something ...nah its to easy for the them to figure out:ughhh:

If it were up to Goodlatte, all gambling would be abolished. It is a moral thing to him. "I am anti-gambling". He has said this a million times.

He knew he could not do anything about US gambling so he took what he could get for now and gave carve outs to the US enterprises while trying to get rid of the offshore stuff.

what i find funny is they are going to extreme measures to stop gambling....why not go to extreme measures to eliminate GUNS...that
fu-k is anti gambling...well i am anti guns....guns ruin a whole lot more lives than gambling does...for every art schlister there's a 1000X more inner city kids killed by guns everyday...but evidently thats NOT A PROBLEM...yet me betting $100 on the pats from my computer IN THE HOUSE, drinking a 6PACK IS A HUGE FU-KING DEAL....im not out running the streets...im not out dealing drugs...im a hermit mon-thursday sitting behind the computer...i know im a huge menace to society...

i think they should just blantently order a cease and desist to all gun makers...they wanna control everything...that should be #1 priority right there...

this fu-king country sucks...

oh the best was last night...you gotta picture this now... i was at my girls house...it was me her and her roommate...sitting on the couch watching AI
(i know your thinking this is gonna lead to some serious trouble)...me with the laptop on my lap, betting games and getting scores...with my beer in front of me (phew its getting pretty serious now)....now if thats not reason enough to send the fbi stormin in to arrest me....well then i dont know what is....just lock me up and throw away the key

like others said, they wont legalize it and put the proceeds to the national debt bc that would be too easy...

You're obviously a threat to society with that kind of behavior....though you should be arrested for being on the couch with two chicks and checking scores on your laptop rather than making your very own porno scenario....

Whatever happened in North Dakota? I thought they passed legislation in their house to legalizing online gambling in ND. Did it not pass in their Senate?

Disagree with that morality bullshit completely. That's just a red-herring. I used to live in Florida, about 10 minutes from a dog track and 20 from the horses. I used to go a couple of times a week to either one and play both. They've got video streaming in from like 20 other horse and dog tracks, they let you bet on the preakness, the derby, bet on Calder, bet on every friggin track out there. If you tire of that, well then you can put money down on the state lottery. If you're tired of that, well hop in the car, drive to Biloxi and gamble more on the slots, or keno or blackjack. Gamble till your hearts content my friend.

Morality? If it were a morality issue, there would be no gambling period. It is a multi-billion, billion with a B, dollar industry. You can't take it out of the US because of the revenue it generates, the people making the kind of money they are making will make certain that gambling remains in the US. However, those people are happy because they are making money. They could care less if offshore gambling was taken away because they aren't making a dime off of it. In fact, it's just the opposite so who knows, their muscle might be the ones behind it. If you could take your $100 to Vegas or Biloxi or wherever but instead you send it to Pinnacle, your boys here aren't seeing a dime of that money.

This boils down to the same thing everything boils down to...money. Morality just makes it sound good.

Gambling is legal, it's your definition of gambling. That is one of the dumbest things about this issue. Even the World Trade Organization told the US that it could prohibit gambling inside it's own borders but not inconsistently. That is exactly what the US is doing. They allow parimutuals, they allow lotteries and fantasy games...these are all GAMBLING!!!

There is no consistency with this act

They will. Right now they're just getting rid of the foreign competition; this helps future domestic gambling houses and increases the future tax base.

Well then that makes sense then but still proves the point that this is all about money and not morality. They want a piece of the pie, not see it go offshore.

Yet he funded his campaign with money from Harrahs fukking casino!!! All of these guys in politics hide behind something. In this case it is religion. When in reality, Goodlatte probably plays poker every Saturday night in a hotel room somewhere with a bunch of his cronies and a room full of hookers. :bunnies:
