This team plays serious low post defense,,,,they just destroyed the Lakers in the paint tonight....I know Dallas and Phoenix are generally thought of as teams that don't show up late in May, but this is really starting to look more and more like the year one of these two breaks thru
and wins it all.

By the way the Lakers Radmonovic is an awful player.:ohno:

Yeah, the Mavs sure appear to have improved their defense. Looks like the Lakers left it all on the floor in San Antonio last night....

They'll be in the conference Finals, which will essentially be the NBA Finals. Those are clearly the 2 best teams. Ironically, they started off a combined 0-9 this year.

They must have blocked or altered 20 shots tonight, and many point blank dunks or layups! I was sweating the over...

I was just going to go back and look that up...amazing how great they've played since.

A combined 62-7 since....then again the Bulls went an entire season like this.:suomi:

dont get too worked up over this win on the lakers... lakers just had a tough game last night against the spurs on a back to back and are still missing 2 of our really key guys Odom and Brown... dont forget we also ended their 13 game win streak without those 2 in LA not too long ago

Hate to dismiss the Spurs but I think the Suns-Mavs will meet in the playoffs at some point and that will basically be your nba finals this year. Barring injury I think the Mavs roll through the playoffs, they really have no weaknesses, and Josh Howard is developing into a star.

True, that was with my man, MJ, though!

I love the Mavs, though. Dirk has the prettiest jumpshot in the league. A 7ft player that wins the 3-pt contest..... that's just awesome.

Dirk is shooting like I've never seen him shoot, smoothest jumper by a big man ever...I think Dirk is the MVP.

I thought he was last year, too. I think you put Dirk on any team, he scores 30 a game. You put Nash on Portland, and he's mortal. Nash is a by-product of the talent around him.

Dirk better get MVP this year. I'm hoping he tries to defend his 3pt contest crown, as well.

That's what I hear, but everytime, and I mean EVERYTIME i have watched him play he is awful...never makes a shot has no inside game at all and appears as if he can't bend over...this dates back to his Seattle days.

No doubt Nash wouldn't be near the same player on certain teams...Dirk would get his shots on any team.

Mavs fan here, idolizer of Dirk, but seriously, if you believe that about Nash, you haven't watched him play very much this year. He's playing better now than his last two seasons when he won the MVP. Product of the talent around him? Well, what point guard isn't? If you think those guys around him are the superstars, do you think you'd know Boris Diaw or Leandro Barbosa's name if Steve Nash wasn't their point guard? Every single player he plays with ends up better than they were before they played with him. Ask Mike D'antoni if Nash is the product of the players around him.

All that said, a Maverics-Suns series will be absolutely unreal - can't wait.

I am a huge San Antonio fan - I still feel the refs decided last years series which was won on a Ginobili foul and alot of horrible calls all in Dallas' favor - and under no circustances would SA have lost to the Heat no matter what the refs did - but after watching both teams play this year I have to say Dallas is better - I still don't take the Suns serious - I would like to see Dallas and the Suns meet and the winner play SA - for so many years SA and LA met in the second round and everyone knew it was for the title so it would only be fair if they got a break for once.
