I have now come to this being a major possibility, as far fetched as it seemed a few weeks ago, now with some BIG BOYS going down I would say it is not out of thew question. Not saying some new books may emerge or risk it later but the whole industry could go down in the US. Never thought private books would go this route till now.

I doubt it...I think we'll see a down year but a year of transition that will eventually iron itself out.

okay maybe a little sarcastic on my end (just frustated) but this is getting out of control with no end in sight. It's almost like without Pinny other books are running just as fast when you thought that someone would be wanting to pick up their slack.

i agree iceman it is really frustrating...and i never thought it would come to this, so much bad news in such a little time.

yes there will still be u.s. facing books, i just hope that the ones left standing are ones we can trust with our money. with pinny gone and now some saying the mansion exchange as well, it is not looking good at all...

There is $$$ Billions in demand, but if and only if, banking is next to impossible for the offshores, then I think its possible that it totally dries up for Americans. If they can't cash or deposit our deposits in their banks then the gig is up. Now, I don't know why international banks couldn't work with them with so much money at stake, but it appears some think it isn't workable...

I can't see many of us sending and receiving cash.

There will always be banks. There are banks that work with known murderers, known drug cartels, etc...

This shit broke 3 days ago. Let's give em at least 2 weeks to figure things out.

Mansion makes sense. The guy is worth $3b+. He lives in Asia. He does not advertise in the US. Why would he stick around...

I don't understand why the books are cutting ties with US players....so its illegal for the banks to take gambling transactions or whatever...How come the books don't "sell" us something???

Like music mixtapes...it is illegal to sell mixtapes. That is why people that sell them say you are paying for the CD case and cover.

I don't get it. This could be so easy.

other than the funding issue (which should get figured out eventually) books should just keep going forward. It isn't like this was any different than it has been in the past 10+ years.

Exactly. These books should "sell" a sports magazine, set up a seperate paypal account to do this with, and then we get to "negotiate" the price, paypal them our money with our account details. They can do whatever they want with their profits from selling sports magazines (put them in our accounts). Funded betting account, no problem.

they can have a note on their website covering themselves saying it is "play money" or something like that. then to get our money back we sell them something in return.

ANYTHING is possible right now, in a few months, etc.

If the past month has taught us anything, it's that.

Like I said in another thread, books need to start being proactive. For now, they're still reacting to everything going on in the industry. There will almost certainly be US facing books and I'm almost as certain that they'll figure out how to deal with the payment issues. In a perfect world they would have had a contingency plan in place, but that's obviously not the case.
