Attending a TB LIGHTNING game here in Tampa..........

Here is the deal in TAMPA.........I go to many games.

On the day of the game, they sell 100 tickets for $9 + tax!!

They are upper deck seats, but you can usually find a seat or two at club level or the lower level........the only exception to this is when they are playing a top tier team OR one that has a great fan following such as BUFFALO, DETROIT, etc., etc.

Your ticket stub also entitles one to a FREE $10 play for the HARD ROCK casino........a free beer at a local watering hole............all this and some nights they run a promo where one recieves free bobblehead dolls of RICHARDS, LACAVALIER, ST.LOUIS, BOYLE, and ANDREYCHUK which go for at least $25 on EBAY...........or some other giveaway.

Even if one doesnt get the $9 ticket, you can usually scalp a ticket for 25% of its face value a couple hours before the game.

All this and you get to see a very exciting/good team in the Lightning in the ST PETE TIMES FORUM which is a great, great venue to take in an NHL game at.

Also, the 2-3 hour party before the games are great........ANDREYCHUKs is a great bar right across from the forum.........as well as HATTRICKS, or a visit to CHANNELSIDE.

Parking is a mere $5 and within two blocks of the forum.

Some gamedays ANDREYCHUKS runs specials where you can get a bucket of 5 beers for less than $10.........as does Hattricks.

Times must be tough, if they have to basically give those tickets away.

It is amazing how the parking rates are just accepted as part of the deal now, $5 here $10 there...what a racket!

Billsey was not overly excited about going to the first Lightning game I took her to(even though she had been to a game 3 years previous)...............now after attending 4-5 games she is constantly hounding me when we are going next.

Footnote--Billsfan has had a great run handicapping hockey this year........and currently on 6-0 run with Lightning sides/totals.

If one follows 1-2 teams very closely in the NHL, you would be very hard pressed to not profit by JUST wagering on those teams............as you get a great feel for a team(s) by doing so.............just ask Billsey!

Quite the contrary(remember, those $9 tickets are limited to just 100 and you have to be at the forum at 9am the day of the game) and many times they are the ONLY tickets available as the LIGHTNING games are all sellouts............

Wow, nice to live in a pathetic sports community where they beg people to come and it really has its advantages. Love it.

Again, not the case........see previous post.

Getting a Lightning ticket can be tough if your not a wiseguy buying ticket scalper as all games are soldout.........it is especially tough when any of the top ten teams are in town.

Also, beings from BOSTON, I wouldn't be opening your mouth to much..........as the BRUINS are struggling to draw fans...........which is pathetic considering they are a decent team this year and a storied franchise.

Was listening to the radio yesterday and the NHL top brass are more concerned with the fan attendance in BOSTON right now as much as any other NHL city.

Thus, your comments are a tad strange beings your from Boston.

Boston is arguably the best sports city in America. Period. Bruins are going bad and they are a laughingstock of a team and ownership right now No question about it. They have not made the playoffs too much and win they do it is one and done. They are not going anywhere. That deal seems too good to be true. Tampa Bay baseball team you can here people sneezing in the stands. Maybe I am just jealous of the nice deal though. Nice to have those advantageous for sure.

.......yeah, a couple times this may occur during a game.

Here is a key I've learned to avoid that...........

Sit the 1st period in your correct seat and scout the arena for empty club level and lower level seats...........then you will know those are in all liklihood going to be available for the entire game and thus allow one to find their way down to the lower levels and "sneak" their asses into them.

The Bruins actually have a better record than the Lightning............as they have FOUR games in hand on them...........and if they were to go just 2-2 in those four games, they would be tied with the Bolts in the PTS race.

Conference standings reflect the order in which teams would qualify for the playoffs. Division leaders (marked with a *) are automatically seeded first through third.

LMAO, in Ottawa it would be 150$ Canadian for the second bowl ticket.

15$ Canadian for parking.

8$ Canadian per beer.

And sold out every game!

yet they say they are losing money hand over foot?

Fish, Bruins have started over, We have a new good coach and new good GM (I think and hope) who are better suited to the new NHL. It will take some time but hopefully we will get better. We have not made the playoffs too much and when we do it is one and done. Unacceptable. Fans will go with a betterproduct but Jacobs is so cheap and gotten away with it. He is starting to realize that he better improve or else.

Know and follow the Bruins very closely.......as they became my favorite NHL club in 1968 until the Lightning came along.

The NEELY/BOURQUE days were some of my favorite all-time times in watching hockey..........and it kills me that they never won a CUP when they played together, as a couple years they certainly had as good a chance any team.

They were as entertaining as any hockey team.......strictly from a fans perspective.

Having said that, the current Lightning club with the likes of LACAVALIER, BOYLE, ST.LOUIS, and RICHARDS is also tremendous from a fans perspective if your a fan of the Bolts.

-FH-

ps- The Bruins come to town here FEB 23RD.........see ya there!!
