Isn't there a way to verify one entry for each Skybook account? They're giving away a car for god's sake.

We had guys this year with less then 100 posts, after joining up that week, win the monitor.

They verify the account after someone wins Tony. They wont give the prize to anyone who doesnt wager BEFORE the games start.

And I am a VERY ACTIVE customer at skybook.

You miss what I'm saying. Say I post from three different accounts in here, from three different computers (I have one at work) and I have one Skybook account.

How would anyone know?

When we get a winner in a Skybook contest his account is examinied to be certain that he was an active Skybook player during the week before the contest game started and that he bet enough money to qualify as active Skybook player and also IPs are checked to make sure their are no duplicate entries from the same account or the same IP.

Actaully a lot goes into making sure winners deserve the prizes they win. I noticed some newbies in the Hummer contest this week but post count in this case is not important, what is important is that account being active at Skybook. Natrully we are hoping for a lot more entries this week but under the circumstances it seems players are having difficulty funding their existing accounts in oreder to qualify as recent Skybook players.

I still see the potential to get two or more entries. Player could have one account, and two posting handles with non matching IP addresses, right ? I see what Tony is getting at.

But you don't know what name goes with which Skybook account is what I'm saying.

I could come up with ten different names from ten different IPs, (it is a car.) post different each time in the contest and when the time comes to verify everything, I just need to give you that one Skybook account number.

Say I start another name in here as "Krusty the Clown" from another computer. It doesn't matter if I hit as Fat Tony or Krusty, my one Skybook account is all I need.

Sure that is fine but you would have to bet at least $100 with each account, because all 10 accounts would have to be active before the ball is kicked off. Bascially the contest is designed to attract new players, do we want one person betting $100 each from 10 different accounts established from 10 different IPs? Of course not.. We do want 10 new accounts to sign up and bet at least $100 though, hopefully a good percentage would continue to play at Skybook once they have deposited and played at Skybook to get a chance at the Hummer, the thinking is some will like the book and become new and regular customers.

Plus a contest like this is great publicity for Skybook (normally - this is not a normal week).

As it stands right now someone hitting a 12 teamer this week out of the small amount of entries is pretty much a long shot, of course it could happen.

hmmm...Fat Tony you make a good point. While I'd never cheat in one of these things plus id be a big idiot for doing so since I've already been a skybook contest winner so they could check but some poster could create a bunch of different RX account and post in the hummer thread with only one skybook funded since therx nor skybook doesn't know when people post in that thread what there account number with skybook is before the fact. They only find out after the fact if that person wins a contest.

Are you saying that you cross reference the IP numbers in here with what Skybook has??

If that's the case, I didn't know that.

Actually if there is the slightest doubt who the winner is we first look to see if the original sign up emaill address is identical at The Rx. and at Skybook. This is not mandatory but more often than not that is the case. Skybook's software will identify all accounts using a particular email address and IP as will The Rx. software. Then if that doesn't match The Rx. compares IPs where the account was registered at and posted from and where the account was set up and wagered from at Skybook. So there are several safety valves to keep the intergrity of the contest in tact. There are other safeguards I won't go into but it is easier said than done to try to win one of these contests without actually having a llegit Skybook account and have made the required amount of bets in the time allotted.

Since we have been doing these we had to take back one prize that I can remember because the poster who won did not actually make the bets until after he found out he won (around 2AM the morning after the game). This happened last year and the poster apologised and the issue was dropped.
