Are banks cashing checks from Sportsbooks?

i had a small check for a sportsbook, returned to me from my bank, was wondering if the banks were starting ot refuse sportsbooks?:monsters-

How would the bank know where the check came from? I doubt this was the case, can you be more specific?

What kind of a check? Was it a personal check with the sportsbook's name as the payor?

no, i dont think the sportsbook, had its name on it at all, i called the bank, Commerce, and they said that i should call back tomorow they will give me back the check and they will explain

what sportsbook did you get the check from i just deposited a large check from an A book with no problems and sure in the hell dont want it coming back

it was not a top sportsbook, so i dont think it should be a problem, the problem might not be with the sportsbook, so i dont want them to pay the repercussions of me saying they are no good, i will wait till i know the reason then fill you guys in

i contacted my book, and they said they will 100% coopertate with rimberisng me as long as i tell them the reason why the bank didnt accept it, will call them back tom

yep, we'd have to bend over at some check cashing place in the hood...

you guys should really use firstpay with wsex. deposit with WU, bank wire, check, debit card, then you can withdraw money to the card and cash out at ATM,. you just cant use the card to deposit money to a sportsbook

It's possible the check was drawn on foreign currency which would create a long hold period..this is my only guess- I saw this happen once several years ago.

Just got off the phone with my bank, and my worst nightmare has happened.
My sportsbook, Superbook.com, owned my Sportsbook.com has no money in their account, dont know what i can do about this, if they have no money, i am seriously screwed.

Did you talk to the people who issued you a bogus check? i would suggest starting there and seeing what they propose..

What does a sportsbook check look like? Anybody want to scan one, or show me an example somewhere.

I have NEVER even considered using this as a withdrawal method as it seems too...I don't know, personal.

I am currently on the phone with Superbook.
Here is what happened, i asked for the check on Nov 29,2006, i didnt actually cash it till, January 5, dont ask me why i waited so long, the check was for 150 bucks only so its not that big a deal.
On January like 6 or 7, Superbook, put 150 dollars back into my account, i didnt realize where this money was coming form, i thought it was a bet i put down in the past, like a futures bet, i wasnt sure, as Superbook, never explained why they put money into my account, so the check didnt go through because they had credited me back the money into my account.

Now you guys tell me who was at fault here, they credtied me back the money AFTER i gave the check to my bank.
I am on the phone still getting for them to pay the bank fee for returned checks
