I thought about this last night when I saw Jim Irsay receive the Hunt Trophy.

I think former Baltimore Colts fans, whose loyality followed the team to Indy, still root for the Colts. But if you lived or live in Baltimore and now follow the Ravans, you HATE the Colts and would love nothing more than to see them lose to the Bears.

Nope, no way in hell. I lived there and had season tickets when they snuck out of town.

I don't think many, if any feel any link to the Indy Colts from Baltimore..

I don't dislike Indy just don't feel as though they're the same team...the Colts playing in the dome on turf, just never felt like the same team pretty quickly for me.

I got a little pissed today when on ESPN, they said this was the Colts 1st Super Bowl since Super Bowl V.

Sorry, this is the Indianapolis Colts 1st Super Bowl ever. The Baltimore Colts played in Super Bowl V.

But I am jaded having been born and raised in Bawlmer.

I would hope not.

This is almost the same as asking "Hey Houston; would you root for the Titans in the Superbowl?"

Only idiots would say yes.

I remember how badly that stunt was handled. I'd be surprised if anyone had anything short of hate towards the team.

Go Manning.... No harsh feelings here.

Daddy Irsay was a drunk scumbag. Fortunately no reflection on his son.

I was just a kid but I vividly remember the Mayflower trucks leaving Baltimore splashed across the news the next morning... I swore to myself at that time that I would "never do business with Mayflower"... and I was just almost 9, haha. Wiki's section about the "relocation" here.

....then at college, my roommate who I had known all my life but he kept changing schools so I never was that close to him, but he told me a story about that infamous move when I was visiting his sister's home in MD several years ago. His sister's hubby (at that time) boasted... among other things... that when he was a UMD student, several officials of the Baltimore Colts came to some of the frat guys and said that "they were needed to help with a big move out of Baltimore and that they would be paid for their help but that they would be required to not say anything to anyone"... they were like "uh okay" and they realized that Baltimore Colts were leaving town BEFORE anyone else.
