I went in to bodog's software to make a payout request today and I don't see western union as an option anymore. My two options are now check by courier and check by mail. Anyone else's change? Two days ago western union was there as the only option. I sent them an email for clarification. I'll let you know what they say.

Thank you for contacting Bodog Customer Service.

The options we provide for payouts is through Western Union or Check by Courier. With Check by Courier, we will cover all fees associated and will take roughly 4 business days. Western Union payouts will also take 4 business days to process, although they do charges fees. If you prefer your payout via Western Union, you would need to contact our Customer Service as we may add this as an option for you. If you decide to make your payout through Check by Courier, the check will be delievered directly to your mailing address.

Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-888- 263-0000 ext 2.

a friend of mine is withdrawing 20k from bodog using check by courier. he's planning to dep the amount into his bank. He said the bank will not question him and he said if anything he will tell the bank that the 20k is a loan therefore there is no tax involved. can anyone confirm this information?

so when the bank asks, "why are you borrowing twenty thousand dollars from an illegal online gambling operation?"

your 'friend' will say?

I'm not an expert. However, I would recommend that one not deposit more than $9999 to a personal bank account. This means not getting a check from a book over that amount. Get multiple checks if you have to and deposit them on seperate days.

If it's a check, it doesn't matter the amount.
If its cash, then your advice is good since the bank would be required to fill out the govt form for cash transactions over $10k. They won't complete it for a check (assuming you are depositing the check directly into a savings or checking account)

Very interesting email. Thanks, Notebook, for posting that. Last night, I did see that they "changed the website" again regarding what deposit/payout options exists, etc. But I already had a WU payout request pending.... from yesterday morning.... still waiting on them to process it.

My payout request was for the maximum ($3K for "Money Transfer" via WU). They *DID* say they'd waive the fees once a week for payouts via WU, but I don't see that anymore.

Bodog probably realized that the WU fees were getting too expensive for them to eat up.

I just hope I'll get a status update soon. Looks like I gotta email them.

Western union fees are ridiculous, kind of expected them to go this route on using check by courier. Just like the old days waiting for a Fed-ex delivery in the morning.

Yep. Btw, as I see nobody mentioned yet in this thread... I did read on Bodog last night that they said "a payout request via courired check will have a fee of $20 unless your request is for $2,000 or more; it will be waived."

Something like that, just FYI for those who didn't notice it.

This is a offshore book's biggest nightmare. Things are literally changing by the hour involving funding/withdrawls to the US.

I guess there is a problem getting the info to gamblers. Just wait until the Monday after the Super Bowl, when the part-timers try to get their money out. Gamblers are a very paranoid and supersticious bunch.

There was a post on another large forum from a guy who deposited a $15K check. The bank told him the check is being held indefinitely to clear homeland security and then will take an additional 2 weeks if homeland security allows them to cash it.

CalvinTy,,
I've noticed that you requested a withdraw from bodog a while ago to western union. I am wondering if you have received the money yet. I requested a payout to WU on Jan. 19 and it has been 5 days and still no email with the western union number on it. Is this normal?

I requested a "Money Transfer" payout (via WU for $3K) on Monday morning, Jan 22nd. I waited 24 hours as planned, then before I could contact them, they contacted me with a recommendation to use "Check by Courier" so I accepted that yesterday afternoon. I should see my check within 4 business days, apparently.

BTW, I did make a new thread on this yesterday: http://forum.therx.com/showthread.php?t=451386.
