I'm not really clear/up-to date on what the US players can/can't do when it comes to betting online, but could we see this in the near future.

What's to stop a Vegas Casinos from setting up a sports gambling website ?

Player deposits directlly to the vegas operated book, so big brother knows how much goes in and how much comes out. Sounds perfect to me. Low overhead, and they could get 100% of the US players. Taxes will be paid, thus US government wins. Everyone wins.

Am I missing something here ? What's wrong with this picture ? :ughhh:

Or did I forget to think about the children again ?? :monsters-

I'm pretty sure that would violate the Wire Act, which made it illegal to place bets across state lines.

That would make way too much sense and be way too easy. Gov't never falls for that kind of shit.

You are overlooking that GAMBLING IS "THE DEVIL". Sucking little children in to loose all their parents life savings on sports bets.

I also suspect, although without any evidence, that all the world's problems are being funded to continue thru these lost funds!

So, it is either kill all the kids, for the good of the world, or go after the bad old bookies.

Killing kids is bad for politics.

They are paving the way for someone. Either the Corporate Casinos or the Indian Casinos.

I could see this happening. When you request your payout from the "chosen" U.S. books, you will automatically see your Federal Income Tax Deduction being deducted from your payout. This way the politicians who spend money like it is water can hear the cash register ring and the gamblers can go about life again. All would be happy, right?

There was a 60 minutes or some new show on this around a year ago that was pretty interesting...

The casinos in Vegas have been trying to get this legalized for a long time. Casinos have invested tons into making this legal. They showed the amount of tax the government would earn and they are still totally against it.

That's because some politician(s) have taken this as "a hot topic" of the year. It seems that all of this started last year, after the Super Bowl when that state trooper got busted and aka Janet Gretzky etc. big name in the news , let's roll with this.

I still can't believe how this new law passed. I may be mistaken, but didnt this just get passed during some 11th hour late night session ? 95% or more of the voters didnt know, or didnt care to read what they were actually voting for?

This was American Politics at it's best. :103631605
