This is quite sickening and the ass who went to school should rot in jail.

But thinking you are banging a kid is illegal now? If a girl who's 18 dresses up to look young, are you now committing a felony?

In a similar situation, if you travel across state lines to have sex with someone you think is a minor, whether they really are a minor or not, you are breaking the law.

Exactly. Those people who arrange underage sex dates over the internet with decoy adults are charged with attempting to have sex with a child even though the actual person they talked to was an adult.
