The BetCRIS and loose change subject surfaces avery 4 or 5 weeks here at the Rx. going back for as long as I can remember. I am really glad they changed their software to adjust for odd cents to stay part of a players figure.
I remember the old days when bets were written by hand on tickets then hand graded, at the end of each day a player had a figure for that day added to his weekly figure that would determine whether or not he paid or got paid for that particular week. The rule basically was if a player won any dollar amount and 51 cents or more you credited him up to the next highest dollar - if a player won any dollar amount and 50 cents or less you credited him the next lowest dollar. Some books (like BetCRIS) just rounded all cents involved in a daily figure down to the lower dollar figure, in other words you had to win a full dollar to get credit for a full dollar. The thing is back then only your $25 bettors (the least you could bet back then) would end up with cents involved in their figures, since the advent of online betting and essentially no set minimum bet at almost every offshore book cents have come into play much more frequently. Going back many years it depended on the particular office whether or not they rounded cents both ways or just down. BetCRIS inherited the just down way when they opened in Costa Rica back when.
Now players can bet $7.55 or $4.37 cents for example, that was unheard of with the old call in offices, natrually at the window in Vegas you could bet small like that since day one.
wil.
