Brodeur picks up 11th straight 30win season tonight...

vs. the lighting. Very impressive streak. Also adds another shut out to his resume tonight (89th career).

Next closest goalie had 8 straight 30 win seasons.

Imagine he will add to his NHL record of 5 seasons with 40 wins later in the season.

2-0 shutout!

His NINTH of the season!!!

He may indeed break the record for most shutouts ALL-TIME.............as he is still relatively young and has at least 3-4 more good years remaining in his career.

He is a great great great goalie.

I remember when the wings made the Cup finals and was going against NJ. All I did was shake my head after every great save he would have. I think sometimes when rooting for the home team you don't realize just how good the other team or players are. He skanked us right out the door.

Brodeur stopped 28 Lightning shots this evening.

He is now the favorite to win the HART Trophey in my opinion.

I had him, Ovechkin, Crosby, and Lacavalier all neck and neck at the All-Star break.

When it's all said and done, the greatest goalie to ever lace up the skates.
And to those who poo-ppo him because of the mid ice team trap the Devils played over the years, so what, doesn't matter if you face 22 or 33 shots if you stop them all.

Marty is also a class act.

Actually, many goaltenders claim it is harder to stay focused when facing 25 shots per game rather than 35 shots a game...........so I don't buy into that claim either.

But I do believe his shutouts would not nearly be as high as they are if he were playing with teams such as the Caps, Pens, or Lightning that don't employ the trap as NJ does AND plays a much more offensive minded approach to the game than the Devils do.
