Have had a great run since Dec 1st and owe alot of it to beating college hoops. Beat the closing line and you will end up ahead in the long run in this sport.

There are 2 ways to this (IMO): 1) just look for dogs where you are getting at least a solid half point (solid meaning 90% of the books are not offering that number) or 2) follow steam, don't abuse this. Fly under the radar and bet small.

Smart money dominates CBB unlike any other sport (IMO). I can't sadly name 20 CBB hoops players anymore, haven't watched 10 seconds of a game this year and hit right around 55% of my plays.

One good thing about Pinny shutting down to US customers is that it is easier to find solid dog numbers, espically on a big board like yesterday.
You can also beat slow moving locals but once again don't abuse this.

Really advise bettors to follow this down the stretch this season as I have noticed this works even better in Feb. Wait close to game time to do this.

*thought we needed to get back into talking betting so brought this up. This is probably (potentially) the best month of the year (IMO) to bet/beat a sport and follow the sharp money. I have no idea who or what plays for San Jose St but when a +7.5 appears on the board and the line is 6.5 than grab the dog.

I have been making a killing doing exactly what Ice is talking about...look closely at games right around pick'em and follow along.

I agree, getting the best numbers on a dog pays big in college hoops.

Basically takes a lot of sitting at the computer and watching the lines all day, then being extremely ready to make a bet as it gets closer to game time as you keep an eye on lines at every book.

Great post.

I've had fantastic results doing this all month, not sure if it's due to Pinny, but seeing alot of soft dogs...

Only negative of this is having limits cut & being put on delay at some books I really like. Pretty much forced to play at Greek and their shitty software...

sum it up: Pinny lean or nowadays call it the BIG BOOKS lean.

Shop, shop, shop and shop some more. Put down the paper, caluclator, pencil and quit capping. When you see a line move pounce on it or just look for dogs that you get an extra half point on.

I barley try to even bet or beat a sharp book( except the Greek), I can't. Their numbers are just too sharp.

The steam is created by syndicates with highly sophistacated computer programs and they MOVE THE LINE. Bet there bets at smaller shops or with locals. Be alert and when you see under 145 Gerogia Tech start to move, then find it and hammer it.

This is expecially true EARLY in the season in the "lesser" conferences.

JM,

I will take any number but the lower the number the more value getting an extra point (generally speaking as compared to 15+ points or so).

I would have to look it up by I bet my record in winning/losing half point to point games is well above 60%. Like I tell my buddy, I don't even get mad (sometimes not true, LOL) when I lose by a half point or so because I can absolutely GUARANTEE you that I had close to the best number availibile the last few hours before gametime and as a bettor that is all I can do.

their is no garabage. A good bet si a good bet is a good bet, peorid. Depends on the day. 30 QUALITY wagers an average day (includes NBA and halftimes, 1st halfs, etc).

Seems NBA dogs have won also for me but College is follow steam. I don't belelieve in fading steam in this sport.

Hell, if someone has the cajones to bet a couple grand on Drexel he either knows what he is doing and if he doesn't then he isn't going to be around very long!!!

Guys,

I am telling you this is by far the best thing to happen since the Pinny mess. The market has softned up without as many books RELIGIOUSLY following Pinny as much.

A small blessing in disguise for me. I have went from 12 funded books to 5 and my total daily wagers are still the same (dont hurt to add a few locals but I have not attacked them hard at all). Books moving a little slower.

Steam is when a betting syndicate will dump on a team early, called steaming the line, and when the books adjust the line and the sheep follow then the syndicate buy;s it back the other way doubling thier original wager and getting a much more favorable line than the opener.

So which part of the steam are you laying down on?

I'm assuming your buying the oppisite of the line move?

30 plays a day. does that mean 10-15 weekdays and 60-75 on saturday when there is a full slate? 30 "quality" plays on a weekday doesn't seem possible with a limited number of games. also, how many cpu monitors do you have to keep up with all the action? i assume you just leave one on pinny. thanks ice

2 monitors, always 1 on Pinny, yes.

Let me add this because for some reason this whole 30 wager thing seems hard for people to beleieve. Not 30 CBB games. NBA 1st halfs, halftimes, NBA sides and totals and NCAA sides and totals. Had 44 yesterday. All depends how long I feel like sitting in front of the computer. NEVER under 15 a day. Saturdays and weds are huge the rest I find around 25 or so, not hard at all.

have followed this for 2 seasons. have heard/seen what you are talking about. It doesn't happen hardly EVER. It must have happend more years ago but I just barely see it but like I said most of my plays are closer to gametime.

I may be wrong but I never seen it happen ONCE today. 90% of my bets are made form 6pm est(except weekends) on so it makes it even less likely. I made a ton of plays yesterday and nothing came back against and some of my bets were made 5 hours or so before games. My advice is if you are new wait closer to gametime to do this.

i'm confused

So let's say the syndicate's computer models say the Bears will win this Sunday. Is this how it works?

1. the syndicate pounds the Colts -7
2. books adjust to Colts -7.5
3. the squares want to follow the line move, and bet the Colts
4. line moves to -8
5. syndicate doubles up on Bears +8

Is this how it works? How do you follow the steam?
Thanks

No. He means syndicates whack Team A -7. Books A, B, C and D move to -8. Book E still has -7. Whack -7 immediately.

Well then when you say your betting "steam" what I wrote is my understanding of what "steam" is defined as.

What your doing is following "wiseguy" money, and yes it;s best to follow the money of smaller schools rather than marque public money games.

When I booked action and had a pager I noticed alot of wiseguy moves on NBA totals.
