I am watching the Wizards game and the announcer is commenting on how they are using fake crowd noise... <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I can’t believe they have to resort to that at the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placeName w:st="on">Boston</st1:placeName> <st1:placeType w:st="on">Garden</st1:placeType></st1:place>...

That's bullshit. You've got to be kidding me.

If there isn't a crowd, there shouldn't be fake crowd noise.

I have never heard of that and I am from Boston. Possible though but not so sure.

I am just repeating what Steve Buckhantz said... Something like...

"It's sad that a place as legendary as this arena would have to resort to using canned crowd noise..."

Paul Pierce has been on the injured list for 18 months w/ a bruise.

And just like the Tim Duncan fiasco - we'll still not get the #1 pick.

The Indianapolis Colts do it all the time...

I had a good time but the game was not good. Was a blowout from the get go... I think it was something was going on b/c there was kids everywhere... I never seen so many kids at a sporting event before...

I had no clue that places use this tactic anywhere... Crazy...

The Vikings have been using fake crowd noise for a few years...

and it is my belief that the Redskins were pumping fake noise this season. It kills me to say that, but I am 99% certain that I heard that shit multiple times this past season. Sad stuff. I actually forgot about it recently, I had meant to post it on the Skins message board or somewhere else. Fuckin bullshit, place gets loud as hell by itself...just not often enough.

The Milwaukee Bucks employ this tactic as well.

Someone should tell this guy they tore the Boston Garden down about 10 years ago. Since then they've gone to all the gimmicks that Pat Williams of the Orlando Magic brought to the game.

YOu would definetely be able to tell at skins games, the sound system is pretty obvious there.

When they first started to demolish the Old Garden, they just knocked the north side of the building off and left it like that for weeks. It was the coolest thing coming off Storrow Drive and turning onto the Central Artery. It was like looking into a giant coffin. That's usually how I drove to the race track so I got to see it several times a week.

I'm not kidding. I heard it multiple times this season. I WISH I was kidding.

I even pointed it out to a couple friends of mine who attended the games with me, and they heard it too.

I'm not saying they did it for every game...but they certainly did it for at least two. Up until then, I had never heard fake noise. And for the majority of home games I'm sure they don't. But for those two games, they definitely did. No question in my mind.

It's stupid because the crowd makes enough noise on their own as it it. No need for that BS.

Justin, believe me, it was obvious. Especially because they'd do it on like 1st and 2nd downs, when the crowd wasn't making much noise. That's what made it so evident.

What do you expect, with tickets being $100 a pop? All corporate fat-cats, mostly baby-boomer age and up, in the best seats. This demographic is not going to make noise at a game.

The NBA: 20,000 white people watching 10 black people play basketball.
