i was a Junior in High School, Saturday that derby day we had a Tennis tourney to play in so we were away. on the bus to the matches a teammate and I are talking derby and he says Sunny' s Halo will win the derby. I picked a horse calle dMArfa.

Of course Sunny's Halo wins, we did not see it we were on the way home at post itme. .fast forward to our 20th reunion......I see him (we have not talked in 20 years) and first thing he says to me (and I knew it was coming) "do you remember Sunny's Halo" that is why your thread caught me...

here is a link to that race. (I have seen it since!)

Oh My God.....that announcer sounds like Mike Battaglia. In fact, it HAS to be Mike Battaglia. Mike Battaglia is the WORST announcer in all of horse-racing/sports history. He is cuurently the announcer at Turfway Park.

What a whiney voice he has. At Turfway park he goes..."and there off.....for the lead.....then a super whiney....."On the outsiiiiide".

He is a joke. Every time he is interviewed on television for big races he always gives out the chalk. A real horrible person.

Summer of 1983. Arlington Park had Parley betting programed in the tote system. The also had their own pools for big simulcast events It was Belmont day, I had to leave the track early for a 16 inch softball game and I made $400 worth of late bets. Parlays, Caveat to win Belmont, Caveat in 2 & 3 horse parlays. After softball game I call up score phone for race results. All my bets were winners, Caveat paid like $11.00 or $12.00. Only thing is Arlingtons Tote System malfunctioned after 3rd race and they ran the remainder of the races for purse money only. Arlington wouldn't even payoff on my winning Cavaet's bets. Since that day Dirty Dick "cocksucking" Duchsisous has been a fierce enemy of mine. He is a very evil person.

Dirty "cocksucking Dick Dushsisous" for those that don't known is the queer owner of Arlington Park Race track. This guy is worse than George Bush. Big time liar.

Sunny's Halo, second win in a row for Eddie D. The mid '80's were great for racing in my book.
