Books can simply write a check and send it via regular mail?? Is it that hard to do? Yea it may take longer but I can wait. I've been doing this for years at World Gaming sites (free). The put a stamp on an envelope and I get it in the mail. Yes it may take 4-7 days but it's always free and basically very low cost to the book. I'd like this even for a nominal fee like 5 bucks.

EVEN when neteller was around I wondered this as this way has to be way cheaper tha neteller fees were.

this is how I always collect my checks from neteller...

I never do EFT's rather I request a paper check for 2$ and it comes to me by mail in about 3 days.

Of course the check is coming from Calgary, if the checks were coming from Costa Rica or Jamaica it may take much longer to arrive, and the postal system may not be as reliable....

It is still a very good question though, I cant understand why some books cannot seem to write checks at all? they dont even have the option? seems strange, but I guess since they havent needed too in the past, this may be the reason.

I imagine once we give books more time to adapt to this change, that paper checks by regular mail aswell as by federal express will become more popular.

Postal Service here in Costa Rica is almost non-existent, as also is an address....there are no numbers on any houses or any business...everything here is 50 meters east from a known office building or landmark, very perplexing.....sending checks from here is totally out of the question.....you should see how Fedex is so screwed up down here....Anyone down here can write checks, but sending them is another story....

I think the problem is the PO is too corrupt in CR, so they have to go Fed-ex to get tracking numbers and such. If they can't see where its supposed to be, and you say you never got it, it could take even longer. NT regular mail from Canada was fine.

its hard to send checks via Fedex from San Jose Costa Rica?

wow, im not saying you are wrong (obviously you know) but I do find it suprising. I can understand Postal service and Fedex being difficult for the lay person, but for books who have offices in San Jose, I am suprised.

Most of the checks that come form Costa Rican books come from Canada or the U.S., as far as I have seen.

Probably the ability to track the check is important, and Fed-ex is reliable.

unless you want a 6 week hold on your check, it needs to be written from an account at a bank that has a coresponding US bank. I would think for safety reasons most books keep most of their money in banks that have no US connection. this is why they use other companies to cut and mail the checks.

good luck

I'm pretty sure he meant liquidity issues due to the large volume of withdrawals.
