In light of all the offshore garbage I have officially retired from sports betting. I dont trust my money to orginizations that may or may not be around after 6pm Sunday night. Why chance it? I keep reading post after post about different ways to fund accounts, more posts about transfers, deposits, and hoping to get paid. WHY? It just isnt worth it. If you lose, you lose your money. If you win, you may still lose your money. Many books will probably fold after the superbowl. Do you really want money at one of these? Those that dont fold, many will use the US govt. as an excuse to not pay. "Sorry US wont let us send you the money. We really want to but...." Do you want to deal with that? What's to keep a book from shutting down "because of the US", keeping all the money "because the US wont let us pay you" and just laying low for a few months to see how it all plays out. Now they have your money and there is nothing you can do about it.

It may already be too late. I have a total of $25 in one account right now. If I get it to $100, I will cash it out too.

Hopefully this will clear up by baseball season and I will un-retire. If not, so be it. I believe within 2 or 3 months things will settle down. If it doesn't, at least I have my money.

Good luck to those of you that have to bet the superbowl. I know many are planning on cashing out right after that. The books know that too.

Thanks guys. Not saying I wont be around. Just not going to gamble offshore until this mess clears up. I just hope you guys dont get caught in an offshore mess.

Good luck to those of you with big balances offshore. You guys are the biggest gamblers of them all.

TN, before you hang up the skills, what are your thoughts on the Phillies for next season? I gotta tell ya, there have been nights where I have literally pulled hair out of my head with some of the horrible beats I suffered last bases season....squashed 9 run leads, 2 outs, bottom of the 9th up by 3 with no men on bases, and lose!! starters bailing out with injuries after 8 pitches on a huge money line, etc....actrually forced me to stop half way through the season.....BUT...when the weather starts warming up in April, and trades are all said and done, and spring training rolls around, and the leaves come back on the trees, and it dosent get dark till later and later with each day, and.....you get the point...LOL.

see ya in April!!

seriously, good luck regardless!!:bunnies:

I hear ya. Cant remember the last baseball season I didnt bet on. Over 20 years for sure. Hopefully all will be clear by April. Should have a much better idea of what, where, and how. I will miss betting on the Superbowl but I think I can enjoy this one without a bet (usually not). I will be rooting for Payton but wouldnt be able to give up the 7 so it is probably a good pass. As for basketball, it is just recreational for me anyway. I'm a $50 a game square that piggybacks a few guys around here. The break will do me some good. I'll still be checking in to see what is going on with the DOJ. This place is in my blood now, I'm screwed.

Just pulled out all my money at thegreek. Having it sent via Fed-Ex. Ive had enough as well. Like you said, hopefully in a few months we wont have to deal with this issue. Best of luck to whomever decides to let their money stay offshore......as of right now its too much of a risk for me.
