I've never been to a check cashing place to cash a check.
Is there one national company that's preferred? (Think the only one I've noticed is named "Ace" or something similiar, but am sure there are many more around here)

Do they ask for your social security number? Or what type of ID?

What % do they charge to cash it ?

Any info is appreciated.

Haven't asked for a check yet.

Well as Nancy Regan (the 1st Lady) once said: " why can't they just say No?"

I guess there really are more "ghosts" here than i might have guessed.

To lighten things a bit-During the 1960's a streaker ran onto Yankee Stadium during a game... A reporter asked Yogi Berra..."Was it a male or Female"

Yogi replied--"Howwould I know-They had a bag over their head".

It varies by state, amount, etc.

3-5% is usually the minimum, and I would think a drivers license would be sufficient as ID, then again, see my first comment.
