Poor Iona... I mean there absolutely can't be a worse story in the land than this one. Here you've got a team that went dancing last year, then graduated 80% of their scoring. Most of the time on a dipcrap team like that, the team posts a marginal season because there should be some guys who come back who were recruited went there just to play with those couple guys (in this case, Ricky Soliver and Steve Burtt).

Nope. Not the Gaels. Iona's fought hard this year. Damn team doesn't give up. Down 15 with 2 minutes left, they're fouling. Down 20 with 30 seconds left and they're still fouling.

Yet here we are... from a team that went 23-8 last year and had an RPI of 64 to absolutely the worst team in the country.... yet amazingly, their RPI has gone UP as they lose games in a weak MAAC (was 330 about a month and a half ago). I'll never understand the RPI... last I checked...

Oh, and just in case Iona wins their first game, they'll still be the only team in America with only 1 win... but the Gaels have something to cheer about.... back to back games with 3-18 St. Peters...

Yeah, winless... they'll probably beat St. Peters once... maybe... I dunno, I kinda thought they were gonna beat Canisius last night. Hell, they're probably gonna be 3-4 point favorites at home against the Peacocks...

I think the question is...

Where the hell are the points on this team? 59 ppg in the up tempo MAAC???

Where is Jeff Ruland?

I heard he took a trip up to Minnesota.

As for Iona. They are better than their record. You just need to pick the games and take the points with them. will technically you should have NEVER layed points in regards to the 0-21 record lol.

I'm 4-1 ATS with them.

0-22 for Iona... Gaels came close again yesterday, as Siena had a buzzer beater late on to win the game. The poor shmucks...

Jeff Ruland had the quote of the YEAR last night after the game (I was listening on radio).

"I like to think we're just sandbagging it and are going to come out and win the MAAC." Too bad they need to beat St. Peters twice to get into the MAAC tourney...

Gaels better hurry... left on the schedule...

vs. Rider
vs. Siena
vs. Marist
@ St. Peters
@ Delaware
vs. St. Peters
@ Manhattan

If the Gaels lose out, they will officially be the worst team in I-A NCAA Basketball history. Two teams have gone 0-28, no one has ever gone 0-29.

Either way, this conference very well could produce one of the play-in game winners, as Loyola-Maryland (13-8) and Manhattan (11-10) are the two front runners in the conference right now... if it's not Marist (15-7), who knows what the final record of the MAAC winner is gonna be...
