Diamond Card Player Gets Handcuffed in Reno Peppermill Sports Book
Don't act up in the Reno Peppermill Sports Book! Tonight, a diamond club player (high roller player) went over to an empty table and picked up a casino provided sheet showing tonights lines. The desk was not marked as being occupied and its common that loose papers are laying around on the desks. A player claimed he was sitting there (although it had been unoccupied for some time) and instead of getting another sheet he hassled the diamond club player. The high roller got hot and told him where to go. The person yelled for security and an overwhelming force showed up including the security manager (we counted seven security people). The Assistant Sports Book Manager did a fabulous job at trying to save the situation but things moved too fast. Unfortunately for all concerned, the Reno Police Department was in the building on another matter and handcuffed the high roller. Why the police did not leave the matter in the hands of the Peppermill security is beyond me. No one was arrested and the high roller went home. Security handled the situation in a professional manner - we would not want their job. It was an extremely unfortunate situation, especially for the Peppermill as the high roller has since said that him and his wife will make the Grand Sierra Resort their new home.
