Max, not blaming you, frankly once the thread turned into a partisan political argument between gamblers rather than a gamblers united against the politicians discussion it went down hill. The strange thing about threads getting moved to the Rubber Room is that it is sometimes not a bad thing for those posters who want to continue the thread. By that I mean a thread has a much longer shelf life there than here in the Offshore Forum, where many threads on busy days last maybe 6 hours before hitting page two.
Over the last 20 months or so since I have been head moderator I think I have had more posters get mad at me because of threads being moved to the RR than anything else. A lot of the times it is not even me doing the moving, every moderator uses his or her judgement when it comes to moving threads and about 50 to 60 percent of the time it is a judgement call. Stone cold promos, profane, flaming, or just idiotic threads don't require much judgement and consist of close to half of the threads moved.
Unfortunately moderating is not a perfect sicence and many times it becomes a matter of risking the anger of a few posters for the good of the many when we move a thread. I don't know how many times I have seen threads moved because posters report the thread or a particular post as being rude, insulting or any number of other adjectives and demand either it be deleted or moved to The RR. Many times a mod finds himself in a dammed if he does or dammed if he doesn't position when it comes to moving threads.
Right now the mods are trying to find a balance on what is or isn't sensitive information, which these days is an important issue. None of us like to censor posters so before we edit a post because it may contain sensitive information we need to give it some serious consideration because the last thing anyone wants to do is deny the posting body here at The Rx some information that may be of some help with something like a withdrawal or deposit. On the other hand new and innovative ideas need to be looked at before they get posted for all eyes to see. I know in the long run there are no real secrets on the internet when it comes to most of this stuff (save the most personal of information) but I don't want the Rx. to be the place where the wrong people first discover it.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, I hope we all have a great Super Bowl this Sunday.
Thanks, wil..
