Just a question.

I havent watched every game they have played.

But I will be surprised if they end up with a 1 seed in the tourney.

They are good but they have some weaknesses. A lot of their success depends on whether or not their 3's are going down (and they usually are). Oden has been progressing well and has gotten more ascertive on the offensive end which bodes well for them. They will be right there with Wisc for the Big Ten title and will get a 1-2 seed, maybe a 3. Who knows what will happen in the crap shoot big dance but I would put them just behind the top tier faves of Florida, UNC. They are right there with Wisc, UCLA, Pitt, etc IMO.

My top 4

Florida

OSU is close...the Big Ten Champ will be the only #1 seed from the Big 10.

I have watched every game this year and have some questions about the team. They were humming earlier in the year pre-Oden and when he came back they have had a difficult time adjusting form a run and gun team. Now they need to get it into the post to take advantage of Oden, and they are getting better at it. They are gelling more and more as the season goes along.
As most Matta teams do, I expect them to be at their best in March. I think the keys to the team are getting Cook minutes, especially at crunch time as he is a superb athlete that can get and make his own shot anywhere at anytime. Butler, Harris and Lewis provide the leadership needed and are accepting of their roles as role players. Butler more reluctantly than the other 2 but he seems to have found 'it' the last 4-6 games. Hunter is better than people are aware of and is a nice backup to Oden and provides more size so Oden doesn't have to do it all down low. Harris is tall but not active on the glass as he would rather be on the perimeter.

I think they are a threat to a NC and expect to see a lineup of Oden, Hunter, Cook, Lewis, Conley as the lineup that closes games in the Final Four.

I think its possible to see Cook explode from this point on including a monster tourney that turns him into a 1 and done. (I think that's why Matta doesn't play him big minutes yet...lol)

My 2 cents

No OSU is not...

I made something about this in the college hoops forum the other day...

OSU has ZERO wins against top 25 teams... Which is unreal...

I would like to know the last time a team was number one this late in the season w/o a win against a top 25 opponent..

As has been the case the last few years, there are few, if any, truely dominant teams in college hoops. The early draft entries have really started to take it's toll on the game in the last few seasons. Who gets hot when it matters, who gets favorable matchups, and who gets the breaks will be the team that comes out on top in early April. OSU has just as good a chance as any IMO. They are not a dominant team but neither is any team in college hoops
