Phil Ivey: If you play a lot of poker, you realize that the better players play a lot of hands and they take chances,'' Ivey says. "The players that don't do as well are just sitting there folding every hand and not taking chances. I'm playing against the best players in the world day in and day out, so you can't just sit there and play only good hands all the time. You've got to take some chances and know when you're beat and know how to get certain advantages.

yes, i'd say even an average player can catch a wave of cards and win a bracelet..and i agree you have to take chances, but aggression is the key...a player who raises with a 9-10 preflop is much tougher than some one who calls with it preflop...

Yes, if you understand pot odds, values, outs, etc. etc. etc.
Have the discipline not to go on tilt, and pick your spots to go all in, absolutly, without a doubt.

I was on a heater the other day that a moron could have ridden to the final three tables or better.

I think one would be surprised how many individuals on this board have made more gambling in their lifetimes than some well known poker players.

A 'GOOD' player can certainly win a tourney...........HOWEVER, a below average player would have a very, very tough time winning any tournament with a field of more than 300.

any one person can win any one tournament. Over the course of 100's of tournaments it is a whole different matter. The better players will cash much more consistently.
