greetings........

those of you who are familar with my posts over the years, know i am old school...key numbers are my bible....

so indy -6' (7 being sorta a key number) begs to be hammered.....

i see sharp action on both sides...but i have been ingrained since birth...lol to take advantage of bad numbers....and imo 6' has to be layed...if it falls 7 you can....

 ,,,gl

btw....u/48 sharp action

Dime:

Wait! Believe that number doesn't go to 7 but rather 6 as the game approaches. Best number I saw was Under 24.5 for the first half.

interesting.......but...

ted....i think the closing number will be back to the number it opened at...........7

if you are right..........then indy is even a stronger play...as only the public would take anything less than +7...gl

If there was strong support for the Colts, the number should have never come off the opener of 7. Also, suspect the services to release the Bears tomorrow further driving the number toward 6. We shall see.

Personally, at the risk of being called the Grinch of Super Bowl 41 I seriously hope this game does not fall seven. Most everyone knows why.

Disclaimer, I wish each and every Rxer could win some coin today but still don't want to see that 7 fall..

Why will the books suffer. Believe me in that supposed Black Sunday game, the books made out OK!

When a big game like a super bowl falls on the number, like today's game the numer is 7 there are no losers. Super Bowls have almost everyone bet the side and natrually many may add other types of bets like totals, props, money lines, parlays (side with total or with baskeball games) which may still be profitable for the books but probably 90% of anyone who bets the game has at least one bet on the side, rare is the player who just bets props or the total only etc. Out of the 90% of the players that bet the side only a small percentage will end up with a losing ticket if the game falls seven.

Why, because there has been plenty of opportunity to take plus 7 and all the opportunity you could ask for to lay 6.5 which when you grade the game after it is over leaves you with nothing but winners and pushes.

Sure some stone cold squares might take 6.5 but they will be in the vast minority, the same type of squares may even lay seven but will still not lose money dispite laying the bad number. I have graded out thousands of games back in the day (pre mod days) and have seen the results of a game falling.

Show me a Rxer who will lose money betting the side today if the Colts win by seven.

Grade 2500 hand written tickets on a big game that falls and you will see how much damage is done to a bookmaker by the game falling.

Not to mention the large number of people who were able to get +7.5 as the opening line at some shops. Also, add the number of people who bought up to +7.5 -120 (as released by Fezzik as his official pick earlier in the week)

-6.5 begs to be hammered? What are you talking about? Then you say your bible is key numbers (with 7 sorta being a key #). Yeah it's not "sorta" a key number, it IS a key number.

I can't see how anybody is betting the Colts at such a bad number at 6.5 or 7 either one. Line should be -3 and no smart gambler would lay anything more.

Edit. Nevermind I reread and realize you're just middling/siding

It seems to me that a lot of bettors have forgot how much the NFC sucked this year. I expect the Colts to win easily as the Bears defense made it's reputation early in the season against inferior teams. I didn't see any great defense later in the year ! Colts offensive line is very good.

OK, give me the COLTS -3.5 for ANY amount you want to give me!

I also promise to take NOTHING back on the other side.

Taking the COLTS at -3.5 would be a TREMENDOUS OVERLAY of gigantic proportions(win or lose).

I think by gametime there will be some 7 flats around. At that # I'll take some Bears. Damn, hate being on the otherside of Dime. A good way to go broke.
