I know it is early and still the possibilities exist that some negative things may crop up but the past week the industry has won a small battle in my eyes.

Looks like some of the books are fighting back and trying to put some things in place. I have personally talked to 4 shift managers at 4 different boks the past week and they have said they have been working day and nite to come up with ideas to keep the money moving in and out in a timely fashion. If anyhting these guy were convincng enough to me and seemed like they were staying put. A few laughed at the US and I got into a few indepth conversations with them about the US goverment and how much control they have over us. I sadly think that has become our reputaion throught the world, that the goverment controls us and all of our moves. This was how I was brought up to believe that commuinst nations were toward there people so it was very uncomfortable hearing a few foreign based opinions of us and our goverment.

They may just be feeding me a line of bull but in an industry where rudeness has been a problem in the past, it seems some have went out of the way too be a lot more freindly to me the past month. The industry looks like it is trying to establish a business as usual approach. Calmer heads will prevail (IMO).

I have reupped at 2 more books and am now at 6 funded books currently, down from 12 a month ago. I am staying very low in these books, moneywise. I figure it is what I can do to support the industry and show some of these books I have faith in them. In all actuallity this has been the biggest form of gambling to me since the day I started betting offshore and that is sending money to far away lands with no guarantee that I will see it again. So before this law or after I know that if I choose to play offshore than that is the biggest gamble to me. Same thing with any gambing, including locals, they dont have to pay you but you just hope they do the right thing.

In all reality, Netller did tell us they were getting out when this so called " law" was passed, so this was not expected, just the run on the banks may have caught them by surprise. Looking at the big scope of things I think most of the problems have been handled very professional by the books given the circumstances.

Lets start getting more positive. Like a few said before, a billion dollar industry is not going to go away just like that. We as a group just can't panic right now in any form. I think we have won a little battle in what will be a tough war. Trying to spin something positive in what has been a rough past month. :dancefool

dont want to give away 2 of them becaus of the lines I get there and I promised a poster I wouldnt mention 1 of them becuase of the fight for good numbers there. Lets put it this way they are not what you would call top of the line books in some guys eyes but they have been top notch in my dealings. I imagine most wouldn't agree with using them right now.

1) Sportsbetting- recieved a check in 2 days back a few weeks ago and have reupped with them using a pre paid Visa with no problem.

2) Betmania- using them for the free half point and doing very well there.

3) Bet Trojan- use them for reduced juice on games I have an opinion on.

4) SIA- if you follow what I do then you should know why I am there. Have reupped there with a pre paid Visa and have had zero problems.

will reup at Carib(most underrated book in my eyes) and the greek soon if one of the above slip. They both paid me in 2 days with fed-ex checks and had no problems with them and like some of the numbers they have.

Neteller's problem is not a run on the banks. It is a seizure of funds.

In order for Neteller to have not had the funds available, it would be like a coke dealer or hooker being non profitable.

It sounds as though the FBI got their greedy fucking hands on the money. How much, none of us know. Whether or not they will do the right thing and return it remains to be seen.

I personally think someone who NEVER used neteller for gaming, who has money stuck should sue the FBI or file criminal complaints against the lead investigators for theft...

I will personally write off my small loss against taxes.

BTW, I couldn't find the thread after it was pushed down following the orgy of posting during the Superbowl but Sean's getting my vote for poster of the year. There's a lot of good posters, but Sean's posts are always very intelligent and insightful. Plus, he gets points for brevity--he's sort of the Ernest Hemingway of the Rx with his succinct posts that say a lot more than ones that prattle on for paragraphs....

But I digress...if the FBI or other government agency *has* frozen Neteller's bank accounts--despite the fact that they're not specifically charged here--they may be behind the 8 ball. IIRC, there's been several cases where law enforcement agents have come across large sums of cash on people and seized it as "probable cause" for a crime. I'm fairly certain that this sort of seizure has been upheld by appeals courts and a case of this sort may have been heard (or passed on, letting the lower court ruling stand) by the Supreme Court. This, IMO, is a pretty disgusting concept--that if I happen to be caught with a large sum of cash on me that I'm presumed to be guilty of a crime regardless of the circumstances of how I got the money. It calls into question the whole notion of privacy since this is saying, in essence, that unless you create a paper trail for the government you are under suspicion. In any case, based on how successful law enforcement has been with seizure it doesn't bode well for Neteller taking legal recourse.

are there any people like this? :ughhh:

frankly, this is part of the reason for Netellers failure, they did not diversify their business in the non gaming market.....

if they had hundreds of merchants and neteller had been used by people for a myriad of reasons other than just gaming, it would have been much much much more difficult for them to fail (IMO)

the next processor should make sure this is the case.

Yeah, the Neteller claims of "non-gaming merchants" has been a running joke here for awhile. What makes it even more galling is their claims to shareholders and customers that they were making good progress on their "diversification strategy".

Though as others have pointed out that a few Ebay sellers take (or took) Neteller p2p for payment my guess is that they were either sports or poker players that figured since they had the account they might as well use it. Probably a good way to keep the gambling bankroll flush without their old lady knowing about it..

What are you talking about? "Biggies in CS"? "Backup offices"? Not to dispute your source or your veracity but I haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about...

How exactly could the FBI seize netellers's funds?

I don't know if its been confirmed that any seizure has taken place. There was an interview with an FBI agent who intimated that this might be the case, but he very well have been speaking of their mole's payout as the "funds" seized as evidence.
