The screen on my laptop went kaput last week--of course it waited until it was out of warranty by two months. Instead of paying close to $500 for a new one I ordered a used one from a reputable seller on Ebay. Needless to say I'm anxious to get this so I can get my computer working again. The company said it was shipped last Thursday, so I log into Ebay today to check the Priority Mail tracking info and get this helpful report with my emphasis added:

>>
Click on the shipping status link to find out if the item has been delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. Please note: shipping status may not be available until the item has been delivered.
<<

...at which point its not like you exactly NEED to know the status of your package...

that's almost as good as:

Confirmation of Delivery will be included with the delivery of your Item.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

This is what the guy did...

He just paid a small fee for Delivery Confirmation..

Verify delivery with Delivery Confirmation. Our low cost Delivery Confirmation service gives you the date, ZIP Code™ and the time your article was delivered. If delivery was attempted you will get the date and time of attempted delivery. You can easily access this information with our Track & Confirm tool.

if he used Express Mail then you could actually track the package from Pick-up to delivery

That makes sense....like I said the guy appears to be legit and I'm not worried about getting my screen but I'm just anxious to get my computer put back together!

I sent mony orders thru the mail once to a company in Mississippi...took over 1 month, I ended up having to have the money orders cancelled....when I went to the USPS to check on what may have happened they infornmed me that their machines eat a portion of the mail each night, and there's nothing they can do about it.

US Govt at its finest.

Oh so true. I can not tell you how many pieces of "automated" mail come through "eaten" every day. I and my brother and sister carriers must deliver these damaged pieces no matter how embarrasing it is to us. One would think that a company such as the USPS who spends millions maybe billions of dollars on "improving the service we provide to America" could find a machine that would smoothly process mail. remember I only see the damaged pieces I wonder what happens to those poor letters that get mangled beyond recognition. "LOST IN THE MAIL I presume
